    Wondering if it could be an intermittent connection for the module in the distributor or a bad ground…. Last random thought….that cutout switch for the Alpha? I had a bad running off idle problem on my Cobra caused by sticking ESA switches, fixed about 10 years ago!

    I’d look carefully at the cap & rotor, plug wires & plugs. Whichever plug is misfiring might tell the tale. Look for one that looks different than the other 5…. Also if you see any oil coming up around the intake manifold bolts check to see if the intake bolts are loose; might be a vacuum leak...

    I think some of the posters above are on to a solution; if you’re backing up a steep grade that could be overloading it. In that case I’d use the lock out to keep pressure off the master cyl while backing. I still have the original Tie Down 66 actuator I installed on my trailer 21 years ago...

    Apparently Merc also tried to make their mid size Obs easy to service as well... Suzuki has one big advantage for single engine boats, a DP set up, don't think anyone else has that on an OB.

    Trailers need regular maintenance....in the old days, we had to manually clean, repack and adjust the front wheel bearings of our rear-drive vehicles every 30,000 miles, often if you had drum brakes you'd try to do the bearings and brakes at the same time so as to not have to get back into it...

    Ok had a similar issue but not so extreme (charging voltage 15.5 at batteries) sone years back. And I learned the cause & solution from a tech guy at ARCO & it also came in instructions for a new alternator I bought from them. Apparently on older OMCs resistance develops in the voltage sense...

    OK what you show there makes sense, the diagram did not, because the elbow would not get cool water flow till the 'stat opened, and it would run VERY hot.
