Joe, build the box first, then slather in Woody's OTF.
Could also glue and screw PVC together. They make a new glue for HDPE that is possible route. But you have the MDO already
You can't do anything without pulling the carb apart . It's like trying to change your underwear while keeping your pants on while wearing a snowmobile suit
The engine that overheated needs a new head gasket. Open deck aluminum block with an iron head means that as little as a 10 degree...
get the smaller 153 tooth flywheel for it. there are no AQ series PDS housings for the 168 tooth flywheel
I am running a 153 tooth SFI flywheel on my BBC in front of an AQ290DP.
basically the same tachometer that is on your riding lawn mower. uses a single wire wrapped round one of the spark plug holes.

as stated, the knock-offs on amazon are as cheap as $11
680# for the dry hull
need to know total weight (hull, motor, gear, beer, you, fish, sammiches)
need to get a tach to see where you are RPM wise (no way around that)
second the tiny tach
many boat builders still are not using tinned copper wires for the boat, solely relying on the sealing of the connectors. this often leads to corrosion issues well after the warranty period
light corrosion on contacts is common, as evidenced by the flashlights in the house and RV, and even the...
simple green full strength and a stiff scrub brush. depending on the mineral deposits, you may be scrubbing for a long time.
being a fresh water creek dealing with great lakes mineral deposits......Wax is your friend here. if you feel you need to do a bottom paint, realize that is a difficult...
I would not have put dielectric grease between the crimp terminals and the wire. crimp them dry, then use epoxy lined heat shrink.
I use both dielectric grease and marine electrical varnish.
you are light on your estimates to redo the floor. the floor is the last thing to rot. you will spend $3500 just to redo the hull, add another $2-3000 if you sew your own seat covers. then you have rigging stuff like blowers and bilge pump, etc that you will need to most likely replace
if...
recheck the raw water pump. only use Johnson impellers or get them from Volvo Penta. do not use Amazon impellers
only use GM raw water pumps. most of the amazon ones are not marine. they are cheap automotive ones with steel impellers
do not use amazon for junk manifolds
your boating in a high mineral area. the minerals on the prop shaft and the slight bit of minerals and transfer aluminum corrosion on the thrust washer.
you should see a few corrosion pimples under the back side of the prop
wire brush it, paint it, use prop grease on the shaft and go boating.
check fuel pressure. you could have a leaking injector that is filling the intake manifold with fuel. the excessive fuel would be cleared by having the throttle open.
I will also add, the chinese amazon specials that you have listed are more expensive than Barr manifolds which are OEM quality. I only recommend Barr or Osco. I do not recommend amazon chinese manifolds.
