    None. You will get more scratches Just hit the are with the moeller zinc dichromate primer. Then top coat FYI, mercury phantom black is just PPG 9000 black. Same as GM black, Rust-Oleum black, etc

    I agree, pull the inlet hose off and inspect. with just a small flick of the tip of your finger, you should be able to spin the propeller for a long time. if it doesnt spin, the bearing pack is gone or other debris may be fowling the turbo My buddy used to keep a pair of rebuilt turbos...

    since the ignition module in the distributor is something like $600, I would simply go to a different distributor. I have a prestolite under the bench which probably has the same spring issue. replaced it with a Mallory YLM-624 years ago. The spring kit has gone thru a few part number changes...
