fuel restriction issue 2000 johnson 150 ocean pro

Whatever it is, the air that is supposed to replace the fuel the engine sucks out of the tank isn't getting replaced or fuel isn't getting transferred from the tank to the fuel pump! I suppose the engine fuel filter is on the output leg of the fuel pump....if not could be clogged with crud from...

1999 21FT Fish Master Tank Capacity

If you can't find an answer you might contact Travis Marine in Lewisville, Tx.....I guess they are still in business. I had a 17.5' 2002 Fish Master. Trying to recollect...I think mine was 18 gallon. I would imagine yours is at least 24 gallon. My Avatar is a picture of it with the 90 Merc I...

    Loaded pontoon cavitation

You are probably ventilating...sucking air into your slip stream. Usual causes are engine mounted too high, too much pitch for the load to be pushed, or obstructions preceding the new water that flows into the prop causing bubbles. Unless you are unreasonably high, I'd guess that you have...

1977 Evinrude 75 hp on 16 fiberglass runabout prop question

You shouldn't notice the difference in diameter....if you change manufacturers or models the new prop could run different due to different blade geometry, variable pitch and other things not related to the 1/4" increase in diameter. The engine WILL notice the 2" change in pitch! Forget that.

Mercury 850 Thunderbolt 85 hp 2 stroke leaks gas out top carburetor before and after carburetor rebuilds.

That is where you find the solution to that problem...stuck or not seating properly.

1978 Mercury Black Max V1500, Surging at high throttle.

I didn't notice a fuel filter included in your activities, nor replacement of fuel lines. Pull your fuel filter and cut it open. Tell us what you found and how much there was of it...picture.....

    125hp ELPTO 2+2 miss/hesitation at high speeds

I got the 2015 revision of the original manual covering 1994 or 5 to the end of production on ebay for a decent price. In the revised edition I found the timing starting in section 2C. 2B-26 was still covering starter maintenance. Thanks for looking that up sir. Will copy and include in my...

Mercury 35hp twin 67-69 got hot and shut down

When you said you lost power from the engine getting too hot, do you mean the engine seized? If so, you will need an overhaul. BTDT

    Studebaker boat

On the cars and trucks, very reliable, inexpensive, well built/designed vehicle. We had them back in the 50's. Boat looks pretty stout too regardless of origin.

Fuel Tank Contamination (for your information)

On the fuel line internal liner disintegrating, I experienced that on two boats after about 10 years of age. Shows up as brown chips and semicircle particles in the fuel filter. The new grey hose kits, with the "oval" bulb, costing $35+ for the bulb mounted in 3' of hose have all this spec...

1993 Johnson 115hp prop for sking

I found "crashes" hard on the body at 36...liked 30 better. I ran a 17P 13+ diameter SST (Staninless Steel Teflon coated OMCs first SS prop) on my 18' Caravelle tri-hull open bow with 125 engine rated HP 1972 Johnson engine....equivalent to your 115 prop rated pretty much. I had no tach either...

Mercury 850 took the leg off 1976 thunder bolt

I like N too as I am sure of what I have with a gear on either side to check my positioning. Having to turn the flywheel vs the prop to line up the drive shaft splines is no biggie for me.

    Amazing

I was looking in my Optimax manual today to aid a poster with a problem. The manual covers the 115, 130, and 150 HP OM. I don't have one. I was buying a manual for my engine and accidentally bought the OM manual...later found the right one and bought it. The OM engine is a 2500 CC...

Need prop for low speed manoeuvres

Take a trolling motor location as an example of what I am saying. Put it on the stern and anything will blow the bow around and you can't "push" the stern around well enough to control things. Put the trolling motor on the bow and you can "drag" the boat anywhere you want. Apply that to your...

Starts and runs at idle great on muffs or in a bucket - won't start at all in the lake or ocean.

That eliminates all that. Do you find fuel around the inside of the cowling traceable back to the carb venturis? Would occur when the engine was tilted up...source improper float level or needle valve that the float controls isn't sealing properly. Under powered means deposits in the...

    Yet another prop question thread

As I recall Solace has a tutorial on their site to answer your questions. Running SS props, just bought a 4 blade Solace to replace a 3 blade because I wanted better control at cruising speeds and wasn't worried about top end...Crestliner 1750 and 115 Merc. I was running a Mercury Laser II 3...

Ensure that your floats are per the manual...usually carb upside down, main support of the float is parallel to the flange where the bowl touches the carb casting.
