Is There a Repair Kit for Corrosion on the Gymbal Housing?

no, I am suggesting taking it to an aluminum fabricator that will cut out the corrosion and weld in new bits of metal, then dress it back. the issue with your plan is the corrosion will be under the JB weld, as its already in the metal that you hit with a wire brush.

Is There a Repair Kit for Corrosion on the Gymbal Housing?

the one issue you will come into. the JB weld will come loose in a few months as the corrosion is into the base metal and will propagate between the aluminum and epoxy I recommend getting it welded. This is a pay once cry once type of repair.

Im going off what I pay at FGCI. in 2019, I paid $16/gallon or $64 for a 5 gallon pail. in 2023, I paid $54/gallon, the 5 gallon pail was ~ $220. its higher today. https://fgci.com/product/boatyard-fiberglass-polyester-resin/

Just an FYI, price of resin has more than tripled over the past 5-6 years. what used to be a $16 gallon of boat yard resin is now $54 and that is picking it up and not paying the EPA fee to ship.

its most likely a chopper gun hull, so it has the strength of a beer-soaked bar pretzel especially with the rotten structure.

you have to really really love a tri-hull to spend money restoring one. they have no resale value, they didnt ride well, and an abandoned one will set you back well over $5k to just redo the hull and interior, not to mention the other systems.
