Suzuki DF60A Throttle body.. Is this fully open when in WOT???

If that is the case you are way over propped. Should be able to get closed to 6,000 with your “typical” load

Suzuki DF60A Throttle body.. Is this fully open when in WOT???

Means nothing….is the butterfly valve fully open? That’s a heck of a load for a 60 hp motor…. Last 17’ boat I was on had a 115hp on the transom

Maybe my turn for new boat time

Fog is pretty typical Spring and Fall around here. It’s only a matter of time before you have to deal with it one way or another. A compass only works if you know where you’re at to begin with, have a chart book available to plot a course, and have the skill to steer a course. A skill set...

Maybe my turn for new boat time

Good luck with that....grand plan to mark "knock downs" while trolling. 20+ years and it's still the last thing I think about when a rod goes down...lol

    New Auto Pilot

Depends on steering, motor etc. Here is a link to the Garmin autopilot select listings https://www.garmin.com/en-US/c/marine/boat-autopilots/ What are you using for AIS input?

Mercury XR2 150 stuggling to get on plane.

The parts diagram doesn’t show a in -line fuel filter on that motor. Fuel filters typically go on the vacuum side of a pump anyhow Have you checked/changed the screen/filter inside the fuel pump?

any tire preference for vans at the boat ramp?

Aggressive tires are only good if they have something to “bite”. Unless launching from an unimproved ramp, the worst situation you may run into on a ramp is sand. Might as well be ice. Traction on slippery surfaces is all about surface contact…..the wider the better. Air down if need be Any...

What are these parts on mercury 150xr2

Your rectifier is good. A good regulator will read continuity through the diodes and open against them Voltage regulator is easily. Do you have 13+ volts at the battery with the motor running?

    Truck reporting over hitch weight

Interesting…… I was looking for something like that earlier in the year Ended up buying a #600 “crane” scale on Amazon for $25 Used the front end loader to lift the tongue.

    Truck reporting over hitch weight

The other thing of note is your manual says the overload is calculated, not real. Gross Combined Weight (GCW) Alert If equipped, the GCW Alert can display a message in the Driver Information Center (DIC), indicating that the estimated combined weight of the vehicle and trailer may exceed the...

    Truck reporting over hitch weight

Went through this exercise this Spring. Factory recommends tongue weight for that trailer at 7% which puts you 30% heavy on your tongue weight. Are you getting this number with a completely empty truck? Class 4 hitch? Boat not properly positioned relative to the center of gravity will make...

    Outboard conversion w/out a bracket??

The bracket is used to help provide additional floatation given your moving the center of mass of the propulsion system back roughly 24-30” from it original design location FWIW my outboard transom is reinforced with aluminum bracing

My stern drive oil is black

Old or lots of use. I run Merc high performance oil. Oil comes out black every fall. Gets 150 hours or so a year on it thuogh

    Outboard conversion w/out a bracket??

That splash well isn't the issue. Lots of boats out there running w/o splash wells It's all the modifications required to the transom to mount and support the outboard. Basically remove and replace in it's entirely.

Fuel Gauge making full, even with no power.

A "true" short to ground should have tripped a breaker or blown a fuse. More the symptoms of a current leak. Are you sure the sending unit is wired correctly? I have installed a couple of senders didn't match conventional color. Pink wire went to ground and black wire went to the sender

    Engine Overspeed?

Why would you need 6 different brands of scanner? I own four “modern” cars. Somehow manage to identify what little has needed to done with a $20 special off Amazon.

Fuel Gauge making full, even with no power.

Does not sound like a ground problem. You have a short to ground somewhere. Since the bilge pump no longer works, I would start there. They are notorious for leaking current to ground upon failure

Can't decide who's the most annoying

Exactly what not to do…..most of these “reach outs” are trolling. Once your email/phone number is confirmed as a valid contact, you get added to the “active” list and the phishing begins

Can't decide who's the most annoying

Used to get a ton of spam email and phone calls. Took care of phone calls by sending anyone not in my contacts list directly to voice mail. Blocked them if they didn’t leave a message. Have a spam blocker on my email. Catches probably 90% of the incoming spam. The rest get added to the...
