    Check the fuel tank vent hose. Make sure to make sure it's not plugged up with insects or full of water. Boats are gel coated, not painted. May discolor a bit but can be sanded out if worst comes to worst

    What are you doing that you need to match the original color of the gel coat? The gel coat on your boat has faded over the past 35 years. The original color is nowhere near what it is today.
