    Slow 9.9 Mercury

That certainly isn't the optimum position, but it's not what's causing your slow speed. You're not running a little slow, you're running a lot slow. OTOH, the difference between an 8 and 9 pitch probably won't triple your speed either. Buy what the prop selector tells you, or look at a...

    1956/57 evinrude sportwin 10

The tank needs to be 100% tight. The cap DOES have a gasket. If the primer leaks it needs a new o-ring as well. There are also o-rings in the plug as well. Might also replace the 2-line hose if that hasn't been done.

    Slow 9.9 Mercury

Is the motor running slow, or the boat? If its the former it's probably running on 1 cylinder. If its the latter, you have the wrong prop. An 8 incher is probably too low, thus the motor is probably revving high. At any rate, a little flat bottom tinny should easily run over 20 (miles, not...

    Bow plowing at high speed.

I'm gonna stick to my last comment. I don't think it was the trailer, per se'. It IS a big issue, though. If it were wood or glass, the hull could be faired. I don't know what to do with aluminum. Looks like the hull has poor integrity, so a fix may be useless anyway. Try an aluminum fab...

    Bow plowing at high speed.

Upgrading your bunks is certainly a good idea, but IMHO a 3" overhang isn't enough to have caused the hook. Not having strakes seems odd to me, but then again I'm not an expert on aluminum boats. Every V-hull tinny I ever owned had them. I would guess that they do add some structural...

    electrical

You blew a fuse. Look at the owner's manual to find out where it is. If you don't have one, get one. (I assume you hooked it up correctly after you found the problem).

2 cycle stored for 20 years

I DO know better. But sometimes life gets in the way. I'm also kinda lazy at times.....but not with the main on the boat. My Dad and I went trolling fishing every Saturday for about 20 years. The 1984 9.9 ran perfecto and pumped water all the time. When he passed I only used the motor once...

    Suggestions of price

Sell the entire rig, including the equipment, for $1000. Sell it "as-is" since it will need a lot of work to get the engine and trailer back into usable condition. That's assuming you have the paperwork to legally transfer the trailer and boat to a new owner. As they say, a boat without...

    Bow plowing at high speed.

First of all, a motor should never bounce up and down. It should be securely fastened in the down position, or tilted part way up and secured with a transom saver if there isn't enough road clearance. If a PO drove around with it tilted up that was not good. Secondly, how far beyond the aft...

    Bow plowing at high speed.

Not usually associated with an aluminum boat though.

    Bow plowing at high speed.

Adjust the trim tab on the engine so that you have neutral steering when trimmed up. That's the normal practice for optimizing a rig anyway. If the hook was caused by improper loading on the trailer, fix that so it doesn't get any worse. Fixing the hook won't be an easy task. Maybe left to a...

    Tahoe Q5i VHF radio

I have had a VHF since 1968. Still have one. Today, it's almost useless. Nobody where I live uses them any more. The USCG monitors them, but nobody is on there any more. The cellphone has taken over. Do a google search and get the phone numbers for all the agencies that you might need...

    Small inline exhaust resonator?

Jetskis already have noise reduction systems. That's why they are naturally quiet. For example, SeaDoo's patented system is called D-Sea-Bel. If you have a noisy jet boat / ski I suspect something is broken / cracked or missing. Fixing the OEM would probably work better than rube goldberg.

    Adding a kicker motor

I've heard all the bad stories for sure. What I've seen I'd that those guys never heard of using threaded rods ,thru bolting and backer plates. The panther Is simply the best. My boating Is above and in view of Niagara falls. I do have a towboat membership, but they cant get to me in time...

    Adding a kicker motor

Bolt on the bracket and measure down to the bottom of the boat. You might need a short or long or extra long. The measurement will tell you.

    Rebuilding the trailer

I did the same thing eons ago. Except I pre-primed with rust reformer before using the fishoil primer. I sold the trailer 21 years later and the rust had still not come thru.

Considering moving and changing my type of boat(ing) and want opinions

Forget about what what others say about politics and taxes. NY state has some of the finest FRESH waters anywhere. The Niagara and St. Lawrence rivers, the Finger Lakes, and of course the Great Lakes. We have a 13.5' Tinny with a 9.5 OB and with 4 of us on board we never feared going...

Three hole (female) old evinrude dual line fuel connector

They are available on e-bay. Also repair kits. Just be sitting down when you view the prices. The tanks come up frequently at garage sales. Its usually cheaper to buy a whole tank and then just rebuild the plug with a repair kit.

Help identifying a Sea King Outboard

It doesn't look like a Sea King (Monky Ward motor made by the Gale Products division of Evinrude Motors) and the numbers don't match the SK database. I don't know what you have. Sorry to be of no help.

Help identifying a Sea King Outboard

There is a metal plate on the transom bracket. Post the model and serial numbers and we can answer the question in a flash.
