    Fuel gauge

Senders utilize resistive loading. You need to measure the output in ohms.

If you have a roller trailer used in salt water....check this....

Our tides are in the 1 to 1.5' range. We are very fortunate in that we have a lot of well maintained boating infrastructure. This is three of ten double wide ramps at our local State Park The one thing I noticed is the boat sits about 12" lower and the trailer is about 2.5' longer. Based...

    Wiring a water temp gauge.

How do you know it over heated? If you got an alarm the "other" plug is the temp switch that triggered the alarm. With a temp switch already in place, I prefer a pressure gauge to alert me to the loss of water pressure prior to it over heating.

    Storing fishing poles in gunwale?

Depends on what rods you're storing. That setup works OK for holding #20-30 trolling rods but beats the heck out of the reels if stored without reel cases. The length and small diameter of spinners make it even tougher on rods in those holders Since you have a center console, I would use...

Tightening stripped screws in hatch lid hinge in fiberglass

Cutting threads in fiberglas is problematic due to its lack of deformation when worked. You get better results "molding" threads in place. To that end, the easiest way to repair a stripped thread in fiberglas is with Marine-Tex. Drill out holes using next size up drill bit to make good clean...

    How to decarb an outboard?

For years I used “Dunk’s” method and just poured a can of sea foam in a 1 gallon gas can. Pulled the fuel line off the fuel pump, attached a length of fuel line and drop the other end in the can of mix. Fired up motor and let it idle until the can was empty, shut off the motor and let it sit...

If you have a roller trailer used in salt water....check this....

My first boat came with a single axle trailer. Hated that thing with a passion. A balancing act if the trailer wasn’t hitched to the truck. Done with roller trailers in general. Getting too old to walk the tongue to hook up the winch. Went with the Loadrite aluminum I-beam bunk this time...

    Trout

I understand from the locals that they get much larger but…having grown up hand lining trout in the small creek behind the house, that was a fish of a lifetime. Only fish I’ve ever had mounted

    Adding a Battery isolator

Make it easy on yourself and run the positive wire from battery 1 to battery 2 terminal on the on-off-both switch. Surprised they are not specifying fuse when tying the 2 batteries together like that.

If you have a roller trailer used in salt water....check this....

Those bolts still have a lot of life left in them…lol Here is what I found this Spring when I went to investigate why the boat loaded with the bow sitting a couple inches off center in the bow stop. Despite the thru bolt probably in the same condition as those above, and the nuts completely...

Solar pool heater water flow question(s)

Couple of thoughts: Heat transfer in tubes is affected by material, wall thickness, the amount of exposed surface, rate of flow, delta T between outer wall surface tubing and bulk fluid temperature, and whether or not you have laminate or turbulent flow Quick observations: The elbows in the...

    Hub/rotor won’t fit properly - thoughts?

One would think there is a standard bearing seat to rotor offset dimension. Have you actually tried installing the caliper to see if it fits?
