Sharing fresh water intake from one engine to a second engine

Thanks for asking the question . . . My comments. The Port outdrive impeller is probably worn, but not highly damaged, so it is able to pump sufficient water when the RPM's are up and the boat is at speed. Some truth to the idea that the pressure around the outdrive while at cruising speed is...

HF 1.5w Solar Panel for trickle charge dual battery system?

For a single or dual battery set-up, and just maintaining the batteries, not really charging them up, I would go about 15 watts. You may only get about 60% of the panel rating, as you will want a solar charging regulator. Many trickle chargers (battery maintainers) are about 400ma. That's...

    fiberglass gurus, need advice.

As an alternative to wood, you might consider some Starboard roughed up with some 50 grit. Apply some plastic drop cloth pressed down over the area while the resin cures for s smooth finish.

Need info on plastic tanks in the engine well

No . . . but the fill fixtures on the deck would give an indication since the (waste, water, fuel) will be located near their respective tanks.

    Cabin ceiling Upholstery

You will probably find that the foam backing on the headliner material has disintegrated and it will be a challenge to get it to stay in place. Since you'd have to expose it to apply adhesive, you may as well just install new headliner material. BTDT.

What age of i/o style boat should I not consider buying?

Consider Mid-2000's and up. A lot of the boats that still used wood (and there are many) were switching to rot-resistant wood ( aka 'Perma Panel and Greenwood XL) around that time.. The outdrives were addressing early corrosion issues better. The fuel injected engines were into their 3rd...

    same speed with different props

More often than not, folks find that propeller swapping does not make a world of difference unless the initial prop was a bad match for the boat/engine. For those who believe in what I call "propeller magic", have at it trying to find what isn't there. The rest of us will be on out on our...

    same speed with different props

It's called horsepower (HP) and you are at the maximum horsepower that the engine can put out . . . and the fact that 2 different props give you the same resulting speed demonstrates it.

    Wood rot HELP

My concern is that boats tend to rot from the keel upward AND from the stern towards the bow. You found a fair amount of rot in the bow (cabin), and it seems like there is more to investigate. Of course your pictures are mostly close-ups so it is hard to tell from an overall perspective.

    Wood rot HELP

Sorry to say, but I think there is work to be done in the mid-ship area, based on some of the pictures. The jury might still be out as to if this boat is worth saving.
