    Depth finder

That’s an excellent shout. Didn’t look close enough. Yeah. Looks like it’s aftermarket fitting has resulted in the usual buttons being hidden and likely affected by the dash. The buttons are usually at the bottom of the round shaped gauge. Nice one

    Depth finder

It may be an issue with the transducer. Doesn’t look an original fit to me. But just in case you didn’t know…you’ll need to be in the water for it to work. There are a few different things that pop up. Depth and setting for offset too. As in how deep your hull is under water. But if it’s not...

2006 volvo penta 5.7 GXI-E no crank issue

Hi. I occasionally have the exact same issue with my identical merc version of this engine. Been too lazy to fix it and only happens rarely. But it’s the fault of the wee relays on top of the engine near ecu (on mine). When I give it a tap…all is well. Reminded me to get mine sorted, reading...

    2001 wellcraft 270 costal powered by a mercruiser 7.4 mpi with a bravo 3. Doesn’t accelerate.

Got to be the coupler surely. Are the props hard splined like usual ?

    Does compression determine horsepower???

Those numbers look good to me for that v4. Especially if cold and gauge variance

There were definitely clam shells in the 80’s. I have one now.

    Engine ID

Not sure that’s true. Look at the pictures above or most other pictures of a 200 black max. Any I’ve known has the vents on them. Certainly late 80’s into the 90’s. I have at least half a dozen friends with such a thing and had a 89 200 with it years ago too.

    Working on A Volvo/Penta 350 and 280 leg?

No doubt the proper way to do it Scott. I only did it once and discovered the shortcut myself and by chance…by just looking at it. Biggest issue I had for the first couple years was water in the gear oil. I think I might have nipped the edge of the o ring and displaced it, the first time. But...

3.5hp 4 stroke Mariner. Stalling when accelerating from idle

Worth getting into the mixture screw I’d say. Had to fine tune mine a little to get it to stop the bogging under acceleration on mine.

3.5hp 4 stroke Mariner. Stalling when accelerating from idle

Yeah. I had to mess with the mixture screw on mine. Had to access it first. I’d also politely suggest that my first and second attempt at cleaning the carb were just in the usual fashion by hand. After the same result…I used an ultrasonic cleaner. Perfect after this.

    Working on A Volvo/Penta 350 and 280 leg?

Agree. None of which will give clue to the wee cheeky cheat for doing the bellows the quick way 😉

Mercruiser Ride Guide Steering Cable Help!

Looks like a very common and standard arrangement. Have a look at teleflex for a replacement

    Volvo Penta Knocking

Worth a look. Sounds like it may well be a mechanical rotational noise Perhaps. Things like the uj knocking can sound all the more amplified when out the water on the trailer too. Best of luck

    Volvo Penta Knocking

Strange one this, after another listen. Seems to perhaps be not as pronounced or as consistent as a rod knock or similar wound be. Might be totally off the mark here and suspect I am…and perhaps isn’t the typical noise for it…but is your outdrive tilted all the way up and maybe the UJ ?

    Working on A Volvo/Penta 350 and 280 leg?

Yeah. Well engineered things. Taking the pins out for drive removal can be a pain though. Make sure you seal up the gear oil drain and fill plugs well though. Tend to take water in otherwise. Power trim pumps can pass oil and not hold pressure occasionally.

That’s the same as my 150 2.0 hood. No vents.

    5.0gi PEFS stalls and deceleration

Think he said rotor. As in the ignition component

If that bottom stripe of the decal used to be green…it’s from the early 90’s. 92-94 or not far off. Hard to tell. But I still think the 200 2.5l should have the vents on the top at each side. Only the 2.0 engines didn’t I’m sure.
