    EPIRB model to get?

All class D VHF radios have DSC functionality. Going the radio route is a lot cheaper and provides better overall functionality.

    Parts availiability ??

Sounds like it’s an issue with a particular plug. Walked in off the street and bought a set of NGK platinums for the car the other day. Got Amazon next day delivery last week on six Champion QL77JC4 plugs for my boat

Few, if any one knows off the top of their head what gasket was used on what model boat 52 years ago You would have a better chance if you posted a picture of what you are looking for

    Livewell questions

Typically only use one pump on live well. Circulate and aerate are the same function with aerate being on a timer to conserve battery power.

Where can we launch in the Chesapeake Bay?

What do you call Middle Bay? Not many options of you limit yourself to State launch ramps. Only one between the Bay Bridge and Pt. Lookout

    Deep cycle/dual purpose/start battery

Not really...... While you may save a couple of bucks upfront, the life expectancy of a marine starting battery is about half that of a properly maintained deep cycle. I run Interstate DC27 that comes with a full 2 year warranty.

    What is this?

It's unusual for aluminum "flake" like. Easy check....if it's not magnetic it's aluminum. If it's magnetic it's iron

I don't know anything about boat but I want one

My annual maintenance expenses on a 225 HP, outboard powered boat run in saltwater consists of two tubes of grease ($9) to flush the wheel bearings on the trailer, a fuel filter ($25), quart of lower unit oil ($20), quart of Sta-Bil ($18) and a water pump kit ($125/2) every other year.

    Deep cycle/dual purpose/start battery

I run Grp. 27 RV deep cycles for both start and house positions for their storage capacity and their ability to tolerate being (deep) discharged repeatedly. Deep discharge a starting battery once or twice and you’re done. A dual purpose battery is a compromise between a starting battery and a...

Garmin striker SV vs CV for quick draw lake mapping

Not sure where you got that idea. The SV has narrower beam angles and is by far the better transducer for "detail" of the two. The SV uses the GT22HW-TM CHIRP transducer. It has 3 transducers... Two (2) for side scan and one (1) center: 16 and 24 degree cone angles The CV uses the GT20-TM...

Just Cut out the Kill Switch?

I do a lot of trolling. Spend probably 60% of a day on the transom checking lines. Lanyards are useless in this application yet we loose a guy every couple of years out fishing by himself and falls overboard. Wanted to make sure I was not one of "those" guys. These work great...

How long does bottom boat paint last if I redo it

Depends on if you need the anti-fouling protection or for cosmetics only. If you want anti-fouling protection you need a paint that can be taken in and out of the water. Some paint formulations will not do that. You want a hard paint for cosmetics only. Sanded smooth and put two coats of...

can someone let me know what fuse sizes?

Don’t worry about it. OP wants a chart…..not worth the time or effort to answer the question from a subjective viewpoint. Still wondering why the mfg. recommends a 10 amp fuse for my 25W VHF radio. It’s unfortunate that most will not get the joke…lol

can someone let me know what fuse sizes?

Paragraph number please...... 11.10.2.3 The current rating of the overcurrent protection device shall not exceed the maximum current carrying capacity of the conductor being protected. 3. It is intended that the protection provided be generally equivalent to that of wiring permitted by this...

can someone let me know what fuse sizes?

Fuse to wire size, not component to maximize circuit capabilities. It’s not a hose… fusing does not limit the amount of current being feed to the component. It limits the amount of current a component can draw from a power source.

    Perko Switch Wiring

Don’t think your starter is going to like having 24 volts applied when battery select is set to X Trolling motor circuit (24v) should be kept separate from 12 volt system. Start on switch A, house on switch B
