    the crank shaft pulley is the mark ..then the ignition timing marker is on the engine , the RPM is 600-1100 RPM ..I used a white paint on the marker .. the 1983 120HP is around 4 deg..distributor is moving a small amount of rotation ,, to adjust it ..in todays world the gasoline is not lead...

    you have to adjust the timing when you change the pertronix 1146a... also the positive ignition coil , engine runs is 9.5volts dc .. my MCM470 has a resistor wire ...engine runs 9.5 volts ....then I changed the correct timing when the pertronix changes the timing .. then set it ,, the engine...

    remove the timing cover then inspect the oil leak ...then the oil pan is a break down gasket then take the motor out ............. you have to a couple of persons to take out and put in the motor ..

    oil leak on 3.0

    remove the timing cover then inspect the pan gasket. I took off my timing cover and I inspect the pan cover ... cleaned it and I put the sealer of the gasket ..the oil pan is not leaking .. I had to fix the water pump... if you take out the motor , a lot of money...drop the oil pan ..

    so you did not have a trailer ... well you have to go to the boat mechanic and the out drive impeller is a break down . boat mechanic also inspects the water engine cooling . engine is around 240F ,, oil is 14 psi ...low pressure ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,typical around 40 psi ...normal.. the impeller...

    the lube is on the cutoff switch module .. then the switch.. is moved it rev/fwd .. also the cable to the out drive can be a wear issue ..

    the out drive switch or the wires corroded to the up switch, then the up button on the dash was using the dash up switch ..2 solenoids up and is down ...the dash switch uses a voltmeter ...to troubleshoot it ..
