The WOT on that motor is 5,000 to 6,000 rpm. If you tach is showing 6,700 that needs to be sorted out Serial number plate should be on transom bracket

Dead battery after sitting on trailer

How do you stop the current draw from a current leak in the bilge pump circuit, another light? The real solution is to install a simple on/off battery switch or a 1/2/both switch if running a two batteries. Simply turn the switch to On when getting on the boat and Off when getting off the boat.

    right prop

Something isn’t right… What motor? Limiter should have picked in long before you get to 6700 rpm What speed (GPS) at those rpm? 4” change of pitch should result in a 400 rpm change, not 2,000 rpm. Check the accuracy of the tach

No Display on Fusion ms-ip600 and possible replacements?

LCD displays and below freezing temp don’t play well together. Was the radio removed in the winter or left in place? Being left in the cold combined with “never used the radio” is a death sentence for a LCD display Remotes are useless antiques with Bluetooth controls The unit is rated 70W x...

Where does electric for lights cb radio etc. connect from?

What you have will work but ideally you want a master switch that completely disconnects the battery from any source of draw on the boat. Eliminates the possibility of leaving the key on and running down the battery that way This switch get wired in between the battery and the motor. The...

Where does electric for lights cb radio etc. connect from?

Run wire from panel directly to the ACC terminal on the battery switch. Run wire directly to battery if you don’t have a switch. Keep in mind that doing this means the circuit is live until you turn the battery switch off. If you connect directly to the battery, it’s always hot. Need to...

How to tell a replacable hub prop

Everything is relative to scale. Certainly overkill for my 14’ aluminum with the 9.9 on the back. On the big boat, I spend more than the cost of the hub on food and drinks for the day. Throw in bait, fuel and 2 stroke oil, the hub money equates to change found under the couch cushions. ;)

How to tell a replacable hub prop

The whole idea of the hub is interchangeably of props. You can buy one prop and use it on any number of shafts simply by changing the spline insert. As Chris noted, pretty sure you would destroy an aluminum prop before you “sheared” the hub. I have not run an aluminum prop in years. It’s a...

~2003 JL Audio stereo remote compatibility

Hard wired remotes are dinosaurs. Most Bluetooth units give you the capability to use your phone as the remote. I added a Bluetooth adapter to my aging JBL unit to allow me to stream music from Spotify and use the app as a full featured remote.

    Lowrance X51 fish finder issues

Transducers are not supposed to "click", at least good ones. Try disconnecting the transducer to see what happens. If disconnecting the transdcuer doesn't have an affect, you most likely have a bad display or video processor.

    Docking outboard stern to dock

We are in tidal water. Stern to dock is the norm as are finger piers and or forward pilings. Cross tie and adjust length to suite. You will not need bumpers or anything else for that matter.

very cool carb and intake manifold causing moisture

Carburetor icing is caused by the temperature drop in the carburetor, as an effect of fuel vaporization, and the temperature drop associated with the pressure drop in the Venturi. The Venturi effect can drop the ambient air temperature by 70 absolute degrees F

    Electrical Problem

You're house burns down. You tell the firemen you don't know what happened other than your where playing with matches yesterday. How would you not try to relate the two incidences? Burnt connectors are almost always loose connections in the form of cold solder joints, loose connections and or...
