    Dash hole cover up bezel?

Might be a little too modern for a 1966 boat though

    Dash hole cover up bezel?

I was wondering about that. I'm going to try to source some stainless. The switch panels that I removed were stainless

    Dash hole cover up bezel?

The cutting boards are only 3/16" thick, and the dash is constructed of 3/8" plywood I think. I may source some brushed stainless sheet instead. I should be able to find that at one of the box stores as backsplash material

    Dash hole cover up bezel?

Looks like they don't sell blanks unless I called them. I think I figured it out, and a plastic cutting board will work great. Either Family Dollar or Dollar General sells very thin cutting boards and they should be made of HPDE, which is same as King Starboard. I have arleady used one for my...

Mercury 850 Outboard super high Idle

It's an old trick... An un lit propane torch will vent raw propane in a somewhat safe controlled maner. A vac leak will pull the gas in and burn it. It will change the idle/ running quality allowing you to spot the issue. You will have to mix the gas a bit oil rich since propane contains no oil...

Mercury 850 Outboard super high Idle

would cause both.. vac leak will cause a lean mixture which causes a high idle. And hard starting because the mixture needs to be richer to start ( choke ) . Check the upper and lower seals, and carb gaskets.. You may be able to use a propane torch BUT, I would put a lot of oil in the gas...

    Dash hole cover up bezel?

Since I'm repowering my '66 Starcraft Holiday 14 OB with a brand new 25hp Suzuki, I removed the choke/ hot light panel and the key switch panel which left 3 1" holes in the dash. I bought the 4" Suzuki tach knowing that it would cover most of what was there but it isn't going to cover it all...

    Johnson JW-10 value help?

Very much a case of what someone will pay.. It could sell for $50, it could sell for $200. Depends on if the fisherman or kid that just needs a boat motor for his jon boat/ row boat, or the collector is the person standing in front of you..

will flat bottom rowboat trailer work for a v hull

Not sure what you mean. If bunk trailer it is easy adjustable. If roller, it should be adjustable

1966 40hp Big Twin to Suzuki DF25 on 14' SC holiday?

I looked at the original Johnson hook, and its designed in a way that the 'T pin' can be removed, and then a bolt through the center of it. I've actually found pictures of the same bracket set up like that. I'll add teflon washers top and bottom. The bigger problem is, I measured for 10'...

    Johnson steering and control.

Kind of. You will have to go to an Evinrude dealer and tell them what you want to do and they will open the parts catalog. Prepare to spend a lot. Afaik the kit is no longer available, just parts to make it work

Replace old throttle control box with newer version

Mercury should have an adapter harness available. Mercury bought Force in the 90s. They later came with Mercury controls, but you can adapt the old US marine control harness with the adapter

1966 40hp Big Twin to Suzuki DF25 on 14' SC holiday?

It's for sure in the cards for winter, but my new motor comes on Tuesday and I'm hoping to have it in the water on Sunday. Since the cable steering is operational, all I need to do is create an adapter

1966 40hp Big Twin to Suzuki DF25 on 14' SC holiday?

I hit the first snag I think while de rigging the 40hp. Nothing that I cannot overcome I'm pretty sure. The center link for the cable steering that hooks to the motor is a push in and 1/4 turn key hole thing, for the old motor and it's horizontal. I need to somehow adapt that to the center...

    Converting Mercruiser MC-1 to Alpha

If you buy a donor boat, you can have the engine out with a chainsaw in 10-15 mins. Since the Alpha Gen II came out in 1992 IIRC, there are lots of rotted Brunswick boats ( Bayliner and many others ) that can be had... Being you have a late 60's boat though, asses your boats structural...

    Converting Mercruiser MC-1 to Alpha

The problem is cobbling up what you need to make the I6 work. It really wasn't used past 1977 I think. It may have gone a little later, but the infamous 470 actually replaced it, and then the 4.3L replaced that. So you can get to an Alpha 1 Gen 1, but it will take some older parts from a later...

    Converting Mercruiser MC-1 to Alpha

Does your drive use a cable for tilt or does it have trim rams? If it has the cable, then it's the older style.. If it has trim rams, then you can likely keep your transom plate, change the gimbal bearing and bellows, and then put an SEI drive on it... If you have to mess with the transom...
