Guessing gets expensive.----Do some tests on stator and trigger.----Also charge battery / load test battery and take starter apart for cleaning and ohm test.
You cannot safely run one of those motors with carburetor issues.----A plugged carburetor means you might be starving 2 cylinders of oil.----And it needs a new water pump impeller every 3 to 5 years.
There are thousands of motors out there with power trim.----Does the parts book show an ----" impact sensor valve "-----But yes , during careless boating you can damage a lower unit.
I Have a couple of these motors.-----Worked on a lot of them.-------It can only fit one way.----The brass ring has nothing to do with how the magplate is installed.

This motor is a 2 stroke.----I can't believe that some folks cannot tell the difference.----Install a new water pump impeller.----Determine if oil injection is in service and working correctly.----Post compression test values here.
