Donno Lou, but hose water is stone cold, 'n the motor ain't workin' at all,....
I rarely see much heat on the hose,.....
Could yer gauge be off by a few degrees,..??
Ayuh,..... The 4bbl carb will yield 'bout 20/ 25 hp over the 2bbl. especially in the mid to upper rpms,.....
Donno why Volvo does that, but it sure is Nice, not to have to replace the intake, to drop on a 4bbl,.....
Ayuh,...... Now you've got 2 parts motors, with cracked blocks,.....
Isolate, 'n pressurize the block's coolin' passages, 'n listen,.....
Then follow the sound to the cracks,.....
My Guess is, the inside wall, opposite the drain plug,....
Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,..... As noted, that's the bottom of the inner transom plate,.....
When broken like that, it's usually a sign of a rotten transom,....
Nope,.... The rotor is keyed to the shaft,..... #1 is whichever post the rotor is pointing at,.....
If you want to move the order around the cap, you need to pull the distributor outa the block, 'n retime the distributor gear to the cam gear,....
Ayuh,..... You need to bring #1 cylinder to Tdc, compression stroke,.....
The #1 on the distributor cap is whichever post the rotor is pointed at,.....
There's no particular post that has to be #1, like in the pictures,....
