Anchor advice needed for rocky and tree bottom lake

... I supposed I could mention the old concrete "bucket" anchors we used to make up north. If ya' lost 'em ... no problem :)

Anchor advice needed for rocky and tree bottom lake

I get a lot of rock and sometimes trees where I boat too. I opted to use a mushroom anchor on mine (smaller than your boat). I drift a little at anchor, but I'm not usually trying to hold a long time and have plenty of room. The mushroom rarely gets hung up. And when it does, it seems to...

Unexplained rain water on new deck boat

Also, look at the boat's weight distribution. There maybe something you can move around and get the aft to sit a little lower. The attitude of the hull at rest should move the water to the bilge (typically). Welcome aboard.

    Flying during pandemic

I flew one way back in late November. Airport felt vacant, but the airplane was actually full. I had expected the empty seat, but we didn't have that. I wasn't any more or less comfortable than normal though (I don't like being that cramped with other people when there isn't a pandemic). How...

    60's/70's Boat Identification

Your state / county licensing office is the one who can best answer the question of what to do next. In Tennessee, I would need a bill of sale and probably go through the process of registering a home built boat. Dunno' about your state.

Official Business of the 3V Club ( aka tri hull club )

Old Chrysler boats are fun. When I was in Detroit, one of my customers had a club of guys based around 'em. Lotsa' neat old glass.

    60's/70's Boat Identification

I'm assuming by no markings you checked for a HIN stamped into the hull on the stern? (Generally starboard side under the rub rail) A couple of things in the rigging suggest early 70s to me, but that's a guess.

    Name this boat

If you Google "day cruiser" you'll find a few boats that look kinda' like that one. Could be one of many manufacturers who have come and gone. Welcome aboard.

    hydrasport

There's probably not a manual for the boat per se. Typically boat manufacturers don't provide a manual like a car. You can purchase a shop manual for your drive system, though. Depending on what information you need, your best bet is to either ask questions here or you can try contacting HCB...

    Considering an inflatable/RIB for diving

Thanks for this guys. I picked up diving a couple years ago and I've been looking at some options for making runs down off the Gulf coast without having to hire a charter all the time. (or buy and tow a big ole' boat) That Saturn might be a good option for the few times a year I'd need it.

    Any 411 on Northstar Bowriders?

No experience with them, but it's not unusual for a boat manufacturer to only last a few years. Those look like they're not US made boats though. So, not even a HIN to lookup by. Welcome aboard.

Boat identification 1975 or 1976 cobia

Welcome aboard. HIN number should be stamped into the stern of the boat just below the rub rail. I'm assuming c18vbr is actually the model, and that it's a V-Hull Bow Rider (vbr). The c18 could mean that the LOA is closer to 18 than 19. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Stern drive would likely be Mercruiser 120...

    Tahoe boat question.

If it's of any value: I've been pretty happy with our Bayliner. I would not have bought one, but getting this as a hand-me-down has turned out pretty nicely. You can see where some fit and finish details were on the lower end of the quality spectrum. But overall the build is decent. I don't...

Ran into a reef & 10 hour service

Personally, I would double check with the dealer on what will void a warranty on your motor before I did anything. Then, because of how new the motor is my thought would be to somehow have the skeg repaired properly from a shop. If necessary I'd remove the lower and take it somewhere for the...
