    If it was clean and you let the adhesive tack up for a few minutes and it came off then the clamp must not have been on right. These are not OEM Merc bellows right? That could be part of the issue

    Did you check the fuel filter ? That will be a good indication if there is water or debris in the fuel. Also in additon to tests recommended above would check the plugs see what they look like and check cap and rotor. I suspect you need some basic maintenance items Dealt with.

    Never had an issue using the "for all makes and model" kind in any of the used cars I've bought, some that had browish AF where someone obviously screwed up what they were putting in.
