    If you mean the carrier the shift shaft comes out the top. you simply unscrew it and slide it off the shaft

    I tun 87 with a touch of octane boost, all readings normal ,temp is constant at 145 and after long continuous running I slow to idle speed and let the motor get rid of all that hot water by letting it idle for about 10 min. never any dieseling at shutoff

    unless you also removed the shift shaft itself it will lock when turned clockwise in a straight line and the prop turned CCW

    if you look at the receiver part, it must be in a straight line in full fwd gear. The drive when in fwd gear locked .the top arm in in a straight line

    not fully n seating the gimbal will make the same sound even with new U joints Can you elaborate this We used the alignment tool when getting the gimbal bearing back in.

    its almost impossible to not get a GEN II to slip up normally, Did the prop lock CCW ? Was the control box actually in fwd gear ? Meaning the receivers opening was in a straight line? If yes then you put it together correctly and the problem is elsewhere

    sometimes the rotor is the cause. spark goes right thru the rotor to ground on the dist shaft

    the reason most fail is because the electric fuel pump starts drawing more current. this burns out the contacts in these and also the mercruiser ones. the trick is to run the fuel pump thru a cube relay and just use the pressure switch as a contact point for the low current internal cube relay

    should more water be coming out of prop

    in the video is appears its coming from the exaust reliefs and what appears to be a cracked/torn exaust boot
