    Start with a compression test. Your cylinders should be between 135psi on the low end and 150. Check your weight. Make sure your throttle cable is pulling your throttle wide open No way to prop low enough to gain 1800 RPM. You have an issue somewhere

    that is an indication you are running lean. adjust your choke and if needed, your idle mix.

    agree, if its added on, there will be powerder coated aluminum or stainless supports. if its molded as part of the hull, then you will have a sleeker look. that means either get to making a mold and making the swim step while grafting it onto the boat, or look to buy a pre-made, add-on.
