    93 Mariah engine mount

If you use csm it needs to be stitched. The epoxy won't dissolve the binder used with most all csm sold. You can use epoxy, it'll be expensive.

    I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

Well thats why it took so long, you need to have a beer or two while doing these sorts of things.

    93 Mariah engine mount

I'll add that before I gutted mine I always had a pull in the steering wheel when coming up on plane. Always assumed it was prop steer. After the rebuild (and seeing how far gone most of the structure was) that no longer happens. Keep that in mind that meant the whole boat was twisting.

changing from a 2 barrel to a 4 barrel carburetor

I picked up about 4 mph on mine but thats a vortec headed 4.3l. I haven't finished dialing in the carb yet but I ran the same 21p with the 2bbl and 4bbl. The 21 on the 4bbl performs the same as the 19 did with the 2bbl as far as hole shot cruise etc. For the price I don't think its worth it but...

    Chinese carbs

My CC company didn't want to hear it. (Business visa with chase) Is what it is and I really can't complain about them as they've been good with every other thing we have needed from a CC company. If I were a few years younger I'd have probably thrown the generator through the front window of...

    Chinese carbs

I got a Honda generator new from a dealer. Ran like crap out of the box. Brought it back to the dealer the next morning and they told me I ran bad gas in it and ruined the carb. They also stated carbuerator problems aren't covered by warranty. Called a few other service centers provided directly...

    215 sundowner transom

I have to say. Wearing the full face respirator and hooded tyvek the itching was minimal the whole time. A trick for relieving it is if after the fact you have it, use a lint roller or clear packing tape on the area. It'll pull most of it out. I lean over a lot of fiberglass filters and piping...

I'm unsure what they could be for and don't think they need to be put back.

    cooking

My oven still wanders with the steel but it is even at least. My cheap electric counter top unit cooks nicely though and is actually what I used for this one as I didnt want to warm the whole house. My oven being an older unit is smaller inside and as such is limited in room despite being a full...

    cooking

I used to toast my bagels in the lab grade ovens at work. We certified the temperature with 2 probes in different locations a few times a month. Those were beasts and heavily insulated though. I never expected a home oven to get anywhere near that. I know how mine behaves and adjust accordingly. :)

Tossed up a Sicilian the other night. Did a 5 day cold ferment with an 8 hour proof. Did a par bake this go around too which I don't normally do. Came out tasty.

    Carb tuning

Haven't much messed around since my last post. Ended up getting a plate for a wide band just to confirm my suspicions with the tuning. Did run it on the trailer just to test it and she is fat. Seeing around 11.5 -12 at idle and dips to 10 at 1500 or so. I've had this wide band and confirmed it...

Engine, Carb or Prop? need suggestions or ideas please.

Do a 383. Big blocks are nice but damn heavy. 383 would be a good compromise.

    Trailer Load musings

Yes. My tandems are all leaf. The only torsions I own are singles and that is the only application where I felt the cost is kind of worth it and you get a benefit. Tandems tow so much better to begin with that I wouldn't bother.

    Trailer Load musings

They're quieter, articulate independently and tow nicer. That being said I can replace a spring pack with my normal trip pack out. Torsion I'm SOL. I have both and don't have a preference either way.

    Trailer Load musings

The pressure is a balance of ride and fuel economy. For a vehicles pay load, the factory specified pressure will give you the weight carrying the car needs at the set pressure. For the trailer you only get the maximum carrying capacity of the tire at max pressure. (Which is true for all tires)...

    Trailer Load musings

I have a 2800lb trailer. The original tires were rated for like 1500lbs. Those stayed on there for 12 years... when I got the boat the tires were immediately swapped out to ones that supported 1760lbs in the same size just for the safety margin. The next go around they have 2100lb rated tires in...

    Trailer Load musings

My fun tongue weight story is that I had my cousin load a trailer for me (mistake 1). Nothing crazy, tandem axle skid steer around 7000lbs total. Pintle hitch the whole 9. He loads it and lets me know its ready to go. Now mind you we were strapped at the time. Down a couple trucks and needed to...

    cooking

Yeah I hate to admit it (the engineer in me cringes) but there is a certain level of feel to baking too. It is 90% of the time an exact science and the other 10% feel.... Certain things you need to be pretty spot on for... Croquembouche for example or creampuffs... but my crumb cakes, layer...
