    New Stuff on Vehicles likes/dislikes

Out of curiosity, where are you located? I have the truck but the SUV version outsells the truck by a huge margin. I love it and have had zero issues in 12K miles(knocking on wood). Some people have had some issues. Fortunately for me, I live very close to multiple service centers. When the...

My Rivian has a port near the trailer hitch. You open it and there are two wires that allow you to "jump" the car's 12V battery to allow you to open the car and it will charge the internal 12V battery that runs all the car's computers.

    Flat tire on haul-out today . . .

What happens when you pick up a nail on the trip? That is where they are most useful. On my F150, I picked up a razor blade. TPMS warned we when I got down to 40 PSI which gave me enough time to get off the highway out of traffic. Tire was able to be saved and know damage to the wheel. Without...

    Flat tire on haul-out today . . .

Before I had TPMS, I picked up a nail. I had no idea the nail was in there and letting the air leak out until the tire was on the verge of shredding itself. That is the value of TPMS whether it be on your car or trailer.

    Flat tire on haul-out today . . .

TST 507 with screw on sensors is what I use for my boat trailer.

    Flat tire on haul-out today . . .

That's for your car...won't do a thing for a trailer.

    Flat tire on haul-out today . . .

All vehicles sold after 9/1/2007 are required to have TPMS.

    Flat tire on haul-out today . . .

I always use a TPMS on trailers. With my 2024 GMD 2500 Denali, I have the trailer TPMS integrated with my vehicle. For my boats , I uses a TST 507 system. Can save LOTS of damage.

Why would you be stupid enough to put on the e-brake in your garage would be my first question. Second, why wouldn't you be able to open your hood in your garage?

Yeah...my understanding is that the RAM is just like my GMC. All shifting is shift by wire. There shouldn't be any cables at all. Personally, I would much prefer push buttons to shift the transmission or a small stalk on the right side of the steering wheel like my Rivian uses.

    New Stuff on Vehicles likes/dislikes

On my 2024 GMC Denali 2500 with the 10 speed 10L1000 transmission, the column shifter is just an electric switch that sends what gear you selected to the transmission control module. There is no mechanical cable. I would much prefer something other than a column shifter since the shifter arm...

I have an OEM OMC manual in PDF form. Send me a message and I can email you the link. It may not be your exact year but close enough.

    Flat tire on haul-out today . . .

He would be WAY better off just getting his tire fixed. He already has it jacked up. Another reason I like doing things myself. Wouldn't let a marina touch my equipment.

    Dragging caliper away from home

I would remove the caliper and lube the guide pins. If the guide pins seem to be ok, you likely have a stuck piston. As mentioned, see if you can push in the piston to get it unstuck.

    Flat tire on haul-out today . . .

Not a chance in hell would I do that. The other 2 tires are likely way overloaded and they will fail next.

Yeah...say that when the cable is stretched out you have run out of adjustment room like a 99 Silverado that I owned. Never had an issue with e-brakes yet. I currently have 3 cars that have them and I sold one 2 years ago with one with 70K miles on it.

LOL...I love E-brakes. Never have to have an emergency brake cable to ever have to adjust again is a good thing.

Well...blue cruise or adaptive cruise control will not work without having an electric brake master cylinder. BTW...Forscan is free!!!! All you have to do is buy a bluetooth OBD device which you kinda want anyway if you ever have a code set and want to read it with the FREE Forscan software. I...
