    I used SEM on my 65 Chevy vinyl seats and I'm really impressed. Follow the preparation instructions and your seats will come out great.

    Well, mine does smell like gear oil. Good, clean gear oil. That was really the only real take away - the gear oil in my lower unit smells good. Good as in it's good - nothing wrong with it.

    I wasn't really speaking on your suggestion. It's a good one. I was speaking more about not replacing a perfectly good one with possibly an lower quality aftermarket one.
