That makes sense.
I did a seat on my 65 Chevy, and it still looks good 8 years later.
But, yes, I could see that being an issue with boat seats.

Hey, would you be able to post a few of the interior and bow. I think yours may be similar to mine, and I'm thinking of painting my outside to be a seafoam green like yours.
I thought it was illegal to have a propane tank in the boat.

Well, mine does smell like gear oil. Good, clean gear oil. That was really the only real take away - the gear oil in my lower unit smells good. Good as in it's good - nothing wrong with it.
I wasn't really speaking on your suggestion. It's a good one. I was speaking more about not replacing a perfectly good one with possibly an lower quality aftermarket one.
