Fusion radio flaky & freezing up

Evrything you described are classic incoming power issues. One of my plotters has a 10.6 threshold, more on that later, that I use as a bellwether to replace my batteries. The 12 VDC is the supply, not the operating voltage of the unit. Most electronics operate off 5 VDC or below. As such...

prop continues to loosen up on shaft

Remove the prop nut like everyone else….. No need to remove the insert from the hub to change a prop

Is this possibly just a gas filter? I'm thinking it's "much more".

I do fuel lines every 10 years. Filter media breaks down and clogs up over time. Filters should be changed annually at a minimum

    New Stuff on Vehicles likes/dislikes

We used to go for on Sunday drives with the family as a kid. Went “exploring” as teens and young adults. Still enjoy seeing the world go by but unfortunately, spending the last 25 years “on the road” severally limits my ability to get “lost” anymore. Having said that, setting GPS to take the...

prop continues to loosen up on shaft

Are you sure the hub is fully seated? Using the supplied locking nut/ tab washers? When I installed an Enertia on my boat, the specific factory torque wouldn't seat the hub. Used the press at work to seat the hub.

I will agree with OnStar and XM radio, but I wouldn’t own a vehicle w/o Apple Play. As a Sales guy, Apple play provides hands free operation of phone, text and email services. Gives me voice command Navigation with real time traffic and speed enforcements notifications. Provides full support...

Paddle shifters are all the rage with the performance guys. Full shift control w/o your hand leaving the steering wheel. I played with them a bit with we first bought the vehicle. Kool feature…not sure why they’re needed on a SUV

Had same issue with the displays on the boat. Found a pair of polarized glasses (Foster Grant) advertised as display compatible. Works like a charm in both situations

1987 Johnson J15RCUD with Racor Filter and Longer Fuel Line Run

Unless it uses an electric pump, the fuel pump is driven by crank case or intake manifold pressures. As noted in the attached, a 2 stroke may generate pressures in excess of 8 psi https://www.walbro.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Walbro_FPC_pump_PS_EN.pdf This chart gives pressure drop per...

One of the things I like about Mazda is the location of the information Display. They went with a joy stick type control mounted on the center console which allowed them to put the 12" display on the top of the dash, in the driver's primary field of vision. Better yet, a heads-up display puts...

1990 Force 120HP no spark NEW stator tests 0.5V between sets open resistance this is crazy HELP

More than likely the result of moisture being wicked into the stack over time. I would image it would have originally been coated it with some sort of paint or electrical varnish to prevent the ingress of moisture.

Surprised no one mentioned hitch assist......first time, every time. Had 3 vertebrae fused during ACDF surgery back in 2020. Blind spot, cross traffic alert and rear view monitoring are a godsend

    Fuel pump issue

The water separator filter is typically the problem filter. Should be changed at least annually.

    Fuel pump issue

When was the last you changed the fuel filter(s)? To eliminate the fuel storage system as the problem, connect a hose downstream of the fuel tank and drop the hose in a can of petrol. See if the problem goes away

Anyone using Garmin UHD with Smartcraft Gateway for engine parameters?

Depends on what you call “easy access”. Unless you have separate displays for navigation, sonar and motor, you will either be flipping pages all the time or you will need a magnifying glass to read the display if you run split screen I run separate, full screen displays for nav and sonar...

    Best rust loosening material

Steel turns orange in excess 1,000F. By that time, you've compromised the metallurgical properties of the fastener. Might as well save time and either cut or break it off (over torque) and be done with it.
