    1979 9.8 Carb Bowl

Nitrile or viton….watch the durometer. 90 durometer Viton is too hard for a carb gasket https://www.theoringstore.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=367_2203_98

Trailer has working running lights, no brake lights or turn signals

Ground issue…..turn signals and tail lights require a much more robust (clean) ground due to the power surges. You need to clean the grounds on the individual fixtures.

    Temp sender removal …

My largest customer is a copper, brass and bronze producer…. Brass and bronzes (copper alloys) are a lot tougher than you give them credit for. Think ammunition shell casings., Would be surprised if it’s actually brass. Brass (copper and zinc) doesn’t fair well in marine applications.,

    Temp sender removal …

Don’t need a head…all you’re doing is “shocking” the interface between the screw on the base material to break loose the corrosion bond. Same mechanism as an impact gun. The buddy that showed me the trick uses an air hammer instead of the hammers. Removes the flat head screws used to retain...

    1979 9.8 Carb Bowl

That is an old school compression (seal) gasket. One time use only. Had the same issue in my old 2 stroke golf cart where the orginal gasket is NLA. It took some searching, but was able to find the proper “square” , nitrile seal for the groove. Had to buy a box of 100 (life time supply +)...

    Temp sender removal …

Two ball peen hammers. Put the small head on the “bolt” and smack the face of the hammer a couple of times with the other. Breaks loose the worst corrosion Should be able to remove with easy out of proper size

    New to hydraulic steering

First off, have you followed the bleeding process to the T? Taking short cuts rarely pays off Leaks on the suction side rarely leak fluid. It’s also quite possible the cylinder or one of your connections are leaking

    Gauges recommendation

Did you ever resolve your over voltage issue? All kinds of weird stuff can happen if you’re operating in real over voltage situation.

1991 gt 150 missing badly around 3000 rpm

Did you fill the filter with gas prior to install? They will not fill on their own. If not, crack a fuel line on the motor (vent air) and pump the filter full with the primer bulb

    Evinrude Ocean Pro 175 issues

Quite possibly. I had to replace three carbs with hair line cracks on my 200hp a while back. Would run, but flood and foul plugs over a course of 10-15 minutes. Tore my hair out trying to figure out what was wrong, With the motor running, spray starting fluid around the crack. If rpm pickup...

    Evinrude Ocean Pro 175 issues

Water pump and thermostat are maintenance items. Doesn't explain the drop in power. If you’re not already, you should be running a 10 micron coalescing fuel filter.

    tahoe 1950 trailer guide pole

Tide…. Running a continuous variable hull. Bow drafts 14” more than the stern. Basically a big wedge. The torsion axle combined with the extra clearance carries the boat 10-12” lower than its predecessor. Can float the #5k hull to the bow stop in knee deep water.

    transducer

Transducer is in fore of the tunnel, roughly 6” off keel. Black, box looking thing, particle obscured by the top, center prop blade. Appears to be missing the fairing block. Will not work w/o one

    tahoe 1950 trailer guide pole

Sure, you could rig something up I guess, but the torsion V axle conversion (lowers trailer to ground) alone would cost me $2,000 plus labor alone. To that you have to add the cost of the target bunks, misc brackets and hardware, adjustable guide poles, etc. Could easily see the conversion of...

Check your fuel filter. Marina fuel is notorious for water contamination. Go out of my way to avoid them

    Evinrude Ocean Pro 175 issues

Had something similar happened. Turned out to be a bad float valve. Pull the plugs to see if you can identify the offending cylinder

Why don't sea choice 1 1/16 seals fit?

Seems like a weird size kit. Typically the inner and outer bearings and seals are a different sizes. Do you have a picture or part number of your old bearings?
