    Autopilot question.

Never heard of such a thing. I believe what you mean is that you can't just punch in a way point and go. You need to build a course way points or utilize the auto-routing feature of chart plotter if so equipped.

JC Tritoon . Does anyone know why JC doesn't have a Dealership out west ?

Several States out west are not all that tax friendly to businesses based out of State. In our case, logistics cost and "fees" had a significant impact on profitability. Opportunities didn't justify opening an in-State office to Service these customers

1998 evinrude 225 ocean pro, no spark! Help!

Resistance tests are short cuts. Used to quickly eliminate obviously failed components. Never assume….load testing is the only way to determine if a component has actually failed or not. As I noted above, those numbers are not in specification. Not saying the components are bad, just that...

Starting your car in this cold weather.

Had a 79 4x4. Same thing with the clutch Thing would climb trees. Body rotted out. Left a ring of yellow paint around the truck every time you slammed a door. My “new stuff” is a F150 with the heavy tow and payload package. Could probably carry the 79 along with a 1/2 load of wood in the back…lol

More than 1 way to pick the best prop for a set of conditions.

Ken is a good guy. Got me squared away with my boat. The 14x17- 4 blade I was running performed pretty well, but was hurting my top end when comparing notes with other owners Ken suggested a 15x15 Enertia. Picked up my top end. Dropped fuel consumption, increasing my range by 10% (~ 30 miles...

1998 evinrude 225 ocean pro, no spark! Help!

I’ve owned the 1997 model year of your motor since new. First thing you do is to buy a factory service manual. Then follow the troubleshooting decision tree step by step for no spark. Circuits involved… stop, shift switch, diode, charge coil, sensor coil and power pack. Manual contains...

    New to me boat

They look no lower than mine, but my deck is a good 2-3" higher than the water line. My scuppers could be completely under water and still not allow water to come in the boat. The application of the white paint over everything makes me wonder what are they trying to hide. I would pull one of...

    flat line trolling for trout

I use a spreadsheet that relates weight, line diameter and boat speed to depth. Use a combination of weight and speed to obtain a given depth. Most trolling lures are designed to run x deep at speed X. Use weight to adjust depth the lure runs. Run mono on a couple of rigs to troll top water...

    New to me boat

They are a band-aid for a design flaw in the boat. In effect, they are one way valves to prevent water from coming in thru the scuppers when/if the deck dips below the water line. If they work, your feet stay dry. If they don’t work, your feet get wet. If valve sticks open, you get wet feet...

    New to me boat

Define “safe”? Shouldn’t need them, but the decks of many self bailing cockpits are not high enough to prevent water coming in with weight in the back of the boat. Its either ping pong balls or wet feet

Unless you get lucky and they numbered the switch, it's probably easier to just get a new switch.
