    Maintenance costs?

As my dad told me.. if you have to ask how much you can’t probably afford it. Warranty claims requires documentation. Make sure “shade tree” provides required/suitable warranty documentation. Stuff happens…damage not covered under warranty. Repair or replace a lower unit or prop should you hit...

    Is the buddy heater safe?

Having a hard time envisioning how or why anyone would have a 154 gallon fuel tank mounted next to them at the helm. Seems a bit of a stretch of imagination to even consider such a thing....lol

    Is the buddy heater safe?

Blowers are required on I/O and inboards because the fuel tank is housed in the same enclosed space as an internal combustion engine. No such hazard exists on an outboard powered boat

Add smaller 2nd Relay to Blueseas "Add a battery"?

It’s even simpler than that….relay combines when the voltage is above 13.0 volts and opens when the voltage drops to 12.75 volt.

Add smaller 2nd Relay to Blueseas "Add a battery"?

Physically connected or not, the ACR is simply a voltage actuated, normally open relay. Batteries are not "connected" until a suitable charge current is applied to close it. The only way I see this working is that you don't have a battery switch to break the positive connection or..... you...

Add smaller 2nd Relay to Blueseas "Add a battery"?

Not sure why you would break ground side when you could simply turn the battery switch off. Not sure how you get parasitic drain with the battery switch turned off Not sure what you’re trying to do. The ACR automatically combines (charges) both batteries whenever a charge source (13+ Volts)...

    Trapped air after filter change

Depends.....if will start and run, your good to go. If you changed the filter and will now not start (air locked), you'll need to crack a fitting to release the air trapped in the line to prime the fuel pump. I always run the motor prior to changing the filter to assure the carb(s) are full of...

    Vintage Mercury Cooling Issue

Depends on the alloys in question, but the last time I checked, saltwater was conductive Good info on metals in saltwater https://darchive.mblwhoilibrary.org/bitstream/handle/1912/3194/WHOI-04-72.pdf?sequence=1&isAllowed=y

WINTERIZING: Full fuel tank vs Empty fuel tank

Maryland……agree…..E10 makes no difference either unless the boat was built prior to 1986 and still running OEM original (now 36 yro) gaskets and hoses.

    Electrical Issues

Check to make sure the red and yellow wires are connected correctly. I’ve seen documents that swapped the yellow and red wires before. Disconnect power from radio. If it stops the fuse from blowing, it’s the radio. If the fuse still blows, you have a short somewhere in the wire

rewiring cobia 256 with twin outboards

The switches in effect replace individually fused circuits. I would much rather setup and make a bunch of jumpers rather than install a 6 gang fuse panel and run individuals feeds to each switch. Good quality spade lugs don’t come off...

    Antenna for 203FX

Couple of things.... People tend to wildly under estimate distances over water. I'm 5 miles out of the inlet before I look in the rear mirror. VHF is line of sight. Don't count on talking to anyone on shore at any given time due to ground clutter. Your fellow boaters are your best hope of...

2001 Searay 210SD- Rear spay hose assy replacement

We’re shooting in the dark w/o pictures. Hopefully you can get to the pump connection? When I replaced my (different boat), I pulled spray mount and disconnected the line at the pump. Tied a string to the hose and pulled it out. Pulled the new hose in with the string

    Bilge issue

Sound like your air locked. Line runs upwards to outlet w/o flat spots in the line? Do you have an upward loop (trap) in the line running between the pump and the outlet?
