    I think you already had them out correct? If so, take one out and measure it. That particular bolt in America you could find just about anywhere. 1/4 20 (20 refers to the threads) and it's probably 1 1/2 to 2 inches.     Yes I agree with F_R down below. When ever you deal with old outboards you are going to have a problem with bolts breaking. When that happens that is supper bad.     Depending on your model number, and you must know this I guess, shafts are available but pricey. Like matt167 says, not sure why anyone would want to other than some kind of sentential reason.

    I've done small outboards and none that old. For me it's usually the shift rod and drive shaft. But the one thing I've found is those are not available new. Not sure on yours. You should try to find a short shaft parts engine if you can.

    Yes, and NASA had a sq. Co2 scrubber filter on the command module and a round one one lunar module. Engineers! I did learn you could get the 585203 off another engine and change the pigtail but those are gone to. Only ones I found were $300 something used on eBay. Revenge of the Ficht I guess!

    Expensive used part? Seems like you've isolated it, buy a new sensor. Better check into why your tach didn't let you know.

    If it ain't right, take it back off and see why. I've never used gasket maker on a carb and possibly you have warped the back??? Not sure I'm qualified enough on this one.

    Pretty sure the thing in the middle is just a soft plug (access cover) not sure why maybe for greasing. Older boxes do not have that. Electrical questions don't make sense to me.
