    Yes The Red/Purple feeds power from the Bat Purple feeds power to motor. Anything that disconnects power from Bat to motor will kill the motor. This is why the kill switch is in line with the purple wire. Loose connection, key switch going bad, kill switch

    Dead Bat might be your alternator has a short Finding the Yel/Red wires tells me you found the correct relay. No way to mix the positions up, relay will work. Relays do come in different sizes but the slave relay pictured previous should all be the same

    Alpha has more issues, if you use the same valve it will shut off the flow from the drive when motor is running. I don't know if there will be damage doing that to the pump but there might be. Might need to add another Y connection so drive can pump salt water over the side when motor is...

    A bit warmer at the thermostat is a good thing in salt water, it can help keep the salt build down, but not a lot. I would suggest installing a fresh water flush so it can help keep it cleaner. I would use a couple of ball valves or webstone double valve, but only if you have bravo drives

    There is always slop in the wheel with cable steering. All determines the gear in the helm and the cable. Don't know of any way to remove it
