    Starflite 3 75hp starter issues

Without a History on the Motor, anything is possible. If the Engine had been under water, and was running when that happened, Things like Connecting Rods, can and do bend, and will result in an Motor that can stiffen up when rotated. Also Cylinder Walls and Rings could rust, and close up...

    Starflite 3 75hp starter issues

I was wondering if you were serious about Rodents stockpiling stuff in the Cylinders, as it could interfere with the Pistons from gettin to TDC, If the engine had been stored other than Vertical, and even then, Rodents could have gotten that far in there

    Starflite 3 75hp starter issues

As suggested, drop the lower unit, and see if it still binds up. With the Spark Plugs out, can you see the tops of the Pistons?

boat and trailer sit very low (to my eye)

You could relocate the Axle to under the Spring, that would increase the Height a bit, or replace the Axle with one that doesn't have the Drop. Added height might result in increased Aggravation at the Boat Ramp though

boat and trailer sit very low (to my eye)

Pictures would be Nice. I suspect a lot of people would be happy to have your Trailer, as it makes for easier Launching. I have to lower the Tongue of my trailer as low at it goes, to get enough height at the Back to lower the Outdrive. As for your 250, maybe it, like a lot of Trucks these Days...

    E85 in Chrysler outboard?

E85 would be a Death Sentence for a Recreational Outboard. They quite often can't even Tolerate the Nasty stuff at 10%. The Fuel System was never engineered for it, and it will make mess of it. Some Racing outboards have used Alcohol, but it takes a lot more Alcohol to make the same amount of...

88 mariner force 50 hp leaking fuel out exhaust and drain hole

Welcome to iboats Two strokes do send unburnt Fuel(gas and oil) out the Exhaust, just the Nature of the Beasts. However if it is excessive, then at least one of the Cylinders is running too rich, or is not firing

    Mercury blackmax 150

The linkages that connect the Throttle shafts on each carb to the other, have to be adjusted so are all closed at the same time. The Sync between the Spark and Throttle Linkage is bit more complicated, and a Factory Service Manual is your best bet there. Any time the Carbs are removed, both sync...

Tilt and trim manual release valve

Welcome to iboats. Do you have a Service Manual, preferably a Factory one? It will have the procedure for Bleeding the System, as well as some troubleshooting procedures. It is possible that the O-rings from your kit are not the correct ones.

    1150 Link & Sync Question

5/16" was used for all the engines until the V6s(175+hp) were introduced in the mid 70s, in which they got the 3/8" line. Unless you are running a 30' Line the 5/16" is more than adequate. Even at WOT, it will take approx 30 minutes to burn a 5 Gallon(6 US Gal) Tank. A 5/16" hose can syphon it...

    1957 Johnson 35hp overheating

You might have to pull the Waterjacket Covers off the Head, the one over the Exhaust Ports , and even the Powerhead off and check for blockage(s). However, first take another look at the Water Pump. Any Scoring of the Housing, and the Plate? Is the Grommet that seals the Pipe to the Pump in good...
