    What prop should I get?

Dont know the diameter let the prop manufacturer handle that pitch is lower than what you are currently using which is typical when going from 3 to 4 blade . 4 blade will typically drop WOT rpm so you drop pitch a tad to keep the wot rpm up

    What prop should I get?

try a michigan vortex 4 blade 18” pitch. Will definitely get you on plane quicker and give better stern lift. i used them on my old boat which was a 3.0 and underpowered for water sports. I ran a 18” for tubing and cruising, 16” for water skiing. I was about 260 lbs then and it would pull me up...

    Bunk configuration

Yes the brackets hold them up off the cross members with through bolts. Ive seen this much more common than what you have where the bunk rests on the frame rail.

    Bunk configuration

Your bunks need to come inboard just outside the flat steps in the deadrise of the hull. my magic tilt uses taller vertical bunks like these https://www.easternmarine.com/magic-tilt-carpeted-cypress-boat-trailer-bunk-board-pt5150 there are 90 brakets that bolt them to the cross braces like...

    Mercruiser 3.0 140 Timing Confusion

Yeah or if there is a limit inside that is broken. Usually there is some physical stop for the weights. If you find an old school hot rod shop with a distributor machine they can probably reset the curve for you

    Mercruiser 3.0 140 Timing Confusion

Seems like 28 advance is way too much. On some 3.0s that blew head gaskets due to detonation they had mechanics reduce te intial advacne to 1 ATDC so if you really are getting 28 mechanical advance you can reduce your intial to keep total under 30. Maybe someone put lighter springs in it to get...

    3.0 running hot 200F

no its not ok- should be running around 175 at most. Do you know if your gauge is accuurate ? Was the impeller you removed intact or missing pieces. I assume you got hte water tube in the drive back in correctly, may have some pieces of the old impeller in the powers teering cooler or in the...

Starting a long sitting, 2003 Mercruiser 3.0 alpha one, with a gen 2 sterndrive.

Agreed just change it and go. I've had engines sit for that long and run just fine. I usually take the plugs out and run it on the started until I see oil on the rocker arms

    Going electric vs marinas

My dads tesla take 70 amps for the fast charger. When they visit it is an overnight charge from my 20 A 220v compressor outlet. So they defintiely would have to upgrade service and distribution. Just like with cars as they become more prevalent the charging services will follow.

    Repowering 97 crownline. Best options?

One thing I wish I had done when I did mine is put a remote oil filter on it. I think its like $200 to mount it up on the manifold vs under the engine.

    Repowering 97 crownline. Best options?

If you get a long block or even easier complete bobtail yes easy swap easier than car or truck just need to lift it higher than a typical engine hoist . Chain fall off a high beam forklift etc.

    2009 regal 2000 rx 220 hp mpi

I would drop down to a 17 or 18 if going from 3 to 4 blades assuming your tach is accurate (might be worth a sanity check with a shop tach). For watersports I had good luck with michigan votex 4 blades and its a cheap whay to cut your teeth on prop swapping . What SS 3 blade is the loaner...

    Repowering 97 crownline. Best options?

Youll need a complete bobtail like this https://www.michiganmotorz.com/mercruiser-350-mpi-alpha-complete-engine this is essentially drop in and has all the pieces required for fuel injection. swapping a new base engine for your existing long block...

    Repowering 97 crownline. Best options?

Maybe the oil was never changed by previous owner . Simplest way is to order a long block either new or reman from a place like michigan motorz and have your mechanic swap all the externals Over.

Fuel burn with 5.7 LX mercruiser, 24' Boat

4600 is ok but you dont want to go lower in RPM. If you are hitting 4800-4900 this is perfect. Actually you are better being slightly underproped than over propped. While yes you have to watch the WOT rpm when lightly loaded, you wont risk lugging the engine, and general performance will be...

Fuel burn with 5.7 LX mercruiser, 24' Boat

bellow trimming wont make much of a difference in that combo. The rpm difference could be more related tot he blade design specifically how much cup it has. you may have had less slip with the old one vs the new one.
