    What is the distributor lube point? if you primed with a dril the oil should be coming out all rocker arms. Not sure if any oil gallery plugs being missed during assmbly would do this. I would defintely discuss with whoever supplied the reman before you get too far into it. Agree with others...

    Lifter clearance will increase as engine warms up. I would take valve covers off and readjust rockers arm nuts. doesn‘t sound like crank or rod bearings to me . What do the spark plugs look like

    Check your manifolds and risers for leaks. They are a common hydrolock cause as well, do not want to transfer them to a new long block. a complete base engine or reman long block is your best bet.
