Formula 26 PC - Not seized engine! Seized outdrive?

Yeah getting water into the bellows via the bilge can cause the u joint gimbal bearing or drive to lock up. Inout shaft seal on drive is mean5to keep oil in not water out. You found the issue just needs to determine best fix , worst case buy a new drive

Where is this water coming from?

Doesnt say much for SEI quality i would figure they pressure test both oil and water passages before they ship

Problem with paint after refreshing Alpha One Gen 2

Like scott is telling you go to a place that sells auto body paint. Tell them what you are working on aluminum, have them sell you correct primer and topcoat , spray with a gun. Good paint is expensive ... i mentioned the PPG DP90expoxy primer In previous post, every application i have used...

    Engine Replacement/Upgrade

The ease/feasibility of this swap will depend on if the boat was offered with a 5.7 or not. The 5.7 is is about 4.5" longer than the 4.3. I did a 4.3 to 5.0 swap in a Sea Ray 200, it was relatively easy because the boat was built to have a V8 option (5.0 & 5.7 are physically same size engine)...

    Considering '13 Bayliner 215

Agreed. I saw the quality/fit and finish on merge with the quality of the smaller (< 22 ft) searays they are making

    Considering '13 Bayliner 215

Good boat fir your needs if its been cared for . I have a similar sized sea ray (they are made in the same TN plant as bayliners) has held up well and with a 5.0 is great for watersports

2008 3.0L AlphaOne no water to engine

Likely the base for the water pump (below the water pump) is leaking oil. If your water pump tube isnt connected water will just come out the prop like you are seeing I dont think your proefessional did the job right... but you also had it apart afterwards so hard to tell. Make sure you change...

Problem with paint after refreshing Alpha One Gen 2

Stray electrical current in the water from your boat or other boats around you causing galvanic corrosion. If you are connected to shore power or have battery charges ?Could be an issue but I think you'd see pitting on the aluminum more. Google it you will see some nasty eaten up drives...

    1989 vs 2008 4.3 differences

Maybe take a tubing bender and bend it to the side so you can keep the hose connection for sucking oil??

Problem with paint after refreshing Alpha One Gen 2

Maybe some incompatibility in the paints used? Some primers require a short window before top coat maybe wait too long? I have had good luck with just the gray quicksilver primer and phantom balck on top of. Better luck with this than the green or yellow zinc primers but I am on a hoist and in...

Small corrosion on the Sterndrive watter passage

I would sand the bubbles down and repaint using merc primer and phantom black so there are no sealing issues with the gasket. And I would also say it is a very clean outdrive. Must be fresh water ?

SX outdrive stuck or was now broke :(

A big Slide hammer (10 lb) or come along attched to a tree or hitch on a vehicle. Worst case a sawzall several blades and a young skinny guy to snake in there and cut the driveshaft so you can yank the engine ....

Where is this water coming from?

O ring in water passage on left hand side of drive , maybe water is coming up the gaskets flange between bell housing and drive and presenting there? Its either that or a cracked drive housing water shouldn’t be up in that area of the drive. No fault warranty they should replace

When you yank the 4.3 and put in a 5.7 the bolts will all be us sized so no worries...

    Single point drain winterization

They wouldn't be scrambling fo rnew engines, but their heat exchangers would be cracked. Im surprised more folks dont drain being that it is not unusual to get some freezing temps , just not like it was this year. Even with 5 points I can drain mine in about 10 mintues for a basic freeze protection

    Single point drain winterization

The drain is the same size for all the drains on a multi point system so likely it would work. If you are concerned, Then drop the hose next to it. Bottom line the system is convoluted.

    1989 vs 2008 4.3 differences

Yeah the mixed US and Metric sizes is pretty funny, not sure why GM did that as the US size 3/8" x16 is so close in size to the M10 on the metric blocks. Usually the block casting number will have an M in it like mine was a 090M for metric.

SX outdrive stuck or was now broke :(

How did you pry the drive back with such force that it busted the housing?

    Single point drain winterization

I'm not sure how big hoses 11,12,&8 are I would think it would work as long as they are not small 1/2" or so hoses. Best way to find out is to take the hoses off and make sure they are drained, especially the cool fuel. This is why people scoff at the single point drain system to verify it works...

    Single point drain winterization

then go get your free help elsewhere... hoses labeled 14,13, 12, 10 (x2) are relatively small in diameter and can get clogged. They all feed the manifold #9 and drain through the plastic ball housing in the lower RH corner. Since you cannot see how much water comes out of each individual drain...
