    volvo penta what? they made motors from 5hp to 500hp, and engine sizes from 1 liter to 8 liters Nearly every bow rider I had did that. current boat doesnt for two reasons not enough room in the back I have 50% more HP now than I did when the boat was new.

    Did you chase every passage with a piece of fishing line to make sure they are open? Is the squirter nozzle check valve free to operate?

    Some tanks have a molded in insert. If that is leaking, it's new tank time Some fittings are bulkhead fittings with O-ring or rubber gaskets. You would have to pull the sender to check

    Factory carb for Mercruiser 454's was always 850CFM Rochester's for a long time. The the Merc racing department ran 850HPs. Volvo put 715CFM on the small blocks and 800 or 850s on the BBC's. Everything I read was 830CFM on the Ford 460 Marine

    My guess is micro cracks started over the years. Once they started it's only a few more cycles until failure. You should see larger and larger beach marks radiating outward from the mounting holes

    that is only a 600 CFM carb. Big enough for a 4.3. not big enough for a 7.5 liter.

    First, Welcome aboard it is a 2-part flotation foam, not a spray foam there should be flotation foam. the foam is there so when the boat is swamped it still floats at the surface.

    base timing? total timing? fuel quality? Carb size? Jetting? horn numbers?

    those garboard tubes are expanded in place. if it is moving, then I would suspect the transom get a new tube and the expanding mandrel. then inspect the transom for rot when you have the tube out. https://www.amazon.com/transom-drain-tube/s?k=transom+drain+tube
