    Volvo Penta 5.7 no spark

Check your battery voltage, should be close to 12.7V at rest and not connected to a charger. Voltage should not drop below 10V when cranking Has the distributor been moved? hope not

    Volvo Penta 5.7 no spark

Your correct it comes from the crank sensor I would start by replacing the distributor cap and rotor. Most call them Crap cap because they can look great and be bad. Most carry a spare because there is no warning when they can go out With the new motors pulling the coil wire can cause their...

    Volvo Penta 5.7 no spark

Does look like there was a change with diagnostics connector between those 2 years. Find the connector near the ECM and see if its round 94024 or flat 94029. It will have a plastic cover over it

    Volvo Penta 5.7 no spark

The Tach signal comes from the distributor. With the new motors they really need to be scanned for codes. Scanner can be bought from Rinda https://www.rinda.com/marine/marinemenu.htm What was the motor doing before this happened? Have you checked fuel pressure at the rail? How are you checking...

    mercruiser alarm

Don't see a real tight belt causing an alarm on anything. Over time it will burn out a bearing, but not cause a water pressure alarm. See it as coincidence. As Q mentioned the water pressure sensor has the highest failure rate If your new motors are closed cooled then may have air in the...

1991 Mercruiser 4.3 …Have power but will not crank.

If you jumped from the small terminal on the inside closest to the block and the starter post then either the starter has an issue or the motor is locked up Find your slave relay on top the motor. Jump across the top larger terminals and see if it will crank

Maybe my turn for new boat time

Don't have a Pic but looks just like the one I removed from the formula, just 2 bank and not 3 Call mercury and tech said the isolator will not be an issue with the motors. Might replace with ACR anyway, less chance of over charging. It came with lead acid Bats so they will be leaving in...

    Ford 302 (888) wiring confusion

Correct The white supplies full 12V when key is ON White supplies 12V to choke so it heats it up and slowly opens it as motor starts and warms up It goes to "original" coil to supply full 12V for starting purpose and once started, "using old points" it changes to 6V thru the ballast resistor...

    Ford 302 (888) wiring confusion

Agree with Bondo, this makes my head hurt First your using a Pertonix ignition, so do "NOT" look at the original wiring, you have to look at what "Pertonix" want's for wiring. Not able to use old and new wiring. Only wire to use with full 12V is white
