    There is a spot on the intake manifold to mount a simple pump.-----It mounts directly over the pulse port with 2 screws and a gasket.----Part # is 0438556 , very simple to install.

    These bolts can be found at the local hardware store.----Parts pricing is a mystery to some.-----That ball is a 4 cent item.-----But the shipping / storage / handling / identification / packaging is $8.46.----Find that ball in an old ball bearing if you like.

    A 1983 head will be warped.----They all are warped after 20 years , so a 40 year old head needs resurfacing.

    The parts picture shows a crburetor with choke plates.-----Those were last used in 1979.-----They may have been installed due to issues with plastic bowls warping.-----Have to run out and do some work in the garden.----A better return for my time.

    What manual are you using ??-----Post a picture of your manual !-----I say that the carburetors with the black plastic bowls are correct for your motor.-----End of the story.
