    Replacing bunks with boat on trailer (too far to get to lift or splash)

    Pull boat back about a foot or more on the trailer.----Raise and block up the transom.------Use a jack to raise front of the boat.----Replace bunks.---Done.

    All the V-4 blocks had the same big center bearing and upper bearing from 79 to 98 I believe.

    Post #6 clearly states that studs appear to be frozen or jammed with corrosion.----A common issue with salt water motors.----A new motor is likely a good option.

    That looks rather silly.----That motor is ready to accept that steering cable right through the tilt tube.-----Much neater that way.

    Do not spend any beer tokens at this time.-----Remove bypass covers and have a look at pistons / rings.----This does not sound encouraging.

    Maybe you have to pull shift pieces out of lower unit first.----Or the bearing carrier and the driveshaft must come out first.

    Remove puller pieces.------Then put the 2 bolts back in place.-----Post a picture of where bolts are pulling.
