    I am across Lake Huron from Michigan.----- Do a compression test first.--Post the numbers.-----Just finished rebuilding a 74 model 40 Johnson for the grandkids.----A near identical motor as that commercial model you have..----A simple motor that does not require $100 / hr dealer / shop support.

    It may not have an overheat warning or overheat shutdown.----If you do not know how old the impeller is it need a new one !----Simple as that.

    Well---" hope is eternal "---Is what they say.----So now you know that the snake oil sellers are everywhere.-----Love seeing the junk off brand motors listed as " made by Johnson " or made by " Mercury "------So find the 20 HP jet and put it in.-----Will save you some beer tokens on fuel.

    Basically you test parts that supply input to the CDI / switch box.----And easy to test coils.----Make for a simple decision on when switchbox / powerpack is good or not.

    You will like the performance of that boat with 2 sweet running 90 HP motors.----Or once motors have proved themselves you could look into making them into 115 HP each.

    It has been proven many times to me that folks know very little about maintaining their motors.----They invent new ways to destroy them almost every day.----Impellers are cheap and must be replaced on a regular basis.-----Many motors do not have overtemperature warning or shutdown...

    Open low speed mixture screws 1/8th turn at a time .----Perhaps the bogging will go away.
