    Nope.----The slots are there for proper oil flow in the bushing.----Pop out the washer on the other end !---Replace the seal.----Nothing to it.

    If the flywheel key is sheared the timing will be way out of spec.----I do not believe a timing light can determine this.

    That motor was built with an L for long shaft ( 20" transom ) and with XL ( 25" transom ) .-----And no the 20" and 25" are NOT the length of the shaft.-----A proper seller would know , list / identify what you are looking for.

    Salt water motor ?-----Removed the 2 bolts and tabs ?------Are you using the 2 threaded holes to pull it out ?
