    Starter issues

The wires are stand ABYC colors The pic are Mercruiser but wiring is same for your motor. Note the Yel/red goes from key switch thru neutral safety and to slave. The neutral safety switch can also have a bad connection Do agree with ding it is sounding that way

Getting closer, the connections on the relay are clean and tight, and there should be a black wire which goes to ground Have you checked the Bat voltage? Should be close to 12.7V as full charge for lead acid. Can keep the meter on the Bat cable at the motor side and turn key to see if your...

Probably a bad connection. If not that then either the key switch or the slave relay Look on the motor for a smaller wire coming off the starter and going to a relay, that would be the slave

Alternator Question - Only +13V when Moving

Either ALT will work in your case, but a 65 amp will not work as hard (so to speak) to produce the same lower charge output. That said I doubt you will need another for a long time

Engine dies after running for several minutes

Condensers do last, but I always change because its a cheap item. Correct there is no resistor coil. Measuring the voltage will tell us if its loosing power and if running correctly. Might be something simple as a bad connection or my key switch

Vortec 5.7 Intake Manifold Sealing Recommendations

The best way is with the motor serial number. If not on top the motor, look above the starter for a plate. The white stuff is thread sealant

Vortec 5.7 Intake Manifold Sealing Recommendations

Always best to tell us which 5.7 Loctite 5900 is just silicone and yes Permatex will do fine If your using a Felpro marine intake gasket I would just use the gasket and no perfect seal. Manual does list to use quicksilver rtv in a bead across the ends

184 MA draw on main battery cable

Would help to know what size boat we're discussing. If its a bass boat or a large cruiser Assuming the boat doesn't have a Battery switch, or its not turned OFF That small amount it might be a stereo with keep alive, stereo amp, a leaking alternator.

5.0 Mercruiser MPI Question After Stalling On Me This Weekend

I'm thinking you just might have ran out of gas. Fuel gauges can be finicky and just stop going down to empty when running out. I've had one boat, a car and 2 trucks run out a bit below 1/4 tank Have never been able to put X number of galls in a X number of gallon tank. Boat just doesn't sit...
