    What brand of 2 stroke oil do you use for your Johnson Evinrude 2 stroke

    Yes the 2+2 has oil injection.-----The oil is mixed with the gasoline on those.-----On an E-TEC the oil is NOT mixed with the gasoline.-----An E-TEC operates like a 4 stroke during the compression / ignition part of the cycle !

    The fat 50 was assembled with the same pistons as the 35 HP of the day.-----And the gears and bearings in that gearcase are capable of surviving a small atomic bomb.-----The gears bearings on a modern 50 HP are flimsy in comparison..

    Driveshaft not seating into the gear box. Please help.

    The driveshaft simply slips back into the pinion gear.----This should be simple.------But you have to release air pressure at the upper vent screw.

    Driveshaft not seating into the gear box. Please help.

    You have to turn the flywheel slowly when pushing the lower unit up.----Water tube must be installed in the exhaust housing FIRST.------You have to make sure the water tube enters the water pump outlet.-----The driveshaft simply slides back into the pinion gear.-----That event is not the issue here.

    When you " washed " it after storage is there a possibility that water entered and flooded the inside of the cowling ?-----Note-----We are all guessing as to what happened here.

    No Water - How Long?

    At full throttle on a boat you get about 10 seconds if there is a complete , sudden loss of cooling water.-----In a barrel at idle , likely no damage done.----What motor / hp and was it idling ?-----Do compression test.----Replace impeller , go fishing.
