    I would test the driver coil under the flywheel.------There is nothing wrong with mechanical switches ( breaker points ) on these motors.-----They give you some warning that they need some care.-----Electronic ignitions fail like a light bulb ( pooofff ) and you are stranded.-----Everybody works...

    Yes , use a puller to get carrier out.----There are no " press fit " parts to do with the propshaft.

    The o-ring is easy to replace without removing the bushing.-----The rod just screws into the gearcase.----No backer nut of any kind.

    Use a timing light on it and see if it is an ignition miss.------Open low speed mixture 1 /4 turn at a time and see if miss goes away.----Post a video of the PORT side of the block .----Showing the adjustable block on that thin rod that goes to the towershaft.----Show this while it is idling.
