    5.7 fuel issue ( I think)

Might have or have "had" a leak but the pump can keep up with most leaks. Unless your seeing a smelling fuel flowing out of the carb, that isn't the issue

    Mercruser Alarm Horn

Have not messed with a push button one of your year. Does the button work similar like a car/truck? Push quick and ignition turns ON, but push with break peddle it starts. Basically want to see the ignition turn ON without starting The alarm is small and behind the helm, and not very big...

    Mercruser Alarm Horn

Check 12V at the alarm to see if power is there when key is turned ON If its there, check the other side when key is first turned ON. The 12V should go to 0V on one side indicating the PCM is signaling to turn ON.

    MAX HP

The issue with going from 225 to 230 hp isn't so much the hp as it will be the weight. If your thinking 2 stroke 225 to 4 stroke 115 that will be a bit more extra weight What does each motor weight?

    Reinforcing Wood Swim Deck/Ladder

I've got one of those 3 step telescope ladders on my cruiser, and have some frinds which push 400 and it was no issue for them. The issue is how the ladder is bolted in place. Mine goes thru 1/4 to 3/8 glass and 3/4 treated plywood behind it. There is a lot of twisting load I would think...

1998 Baja 5.7 carb loosing power/ low rpms will not plane

Agree, but its backfiring and dieseling, so that's either wires out of order or timing is off. Neither should have changed but one or more did

    Popping noise when use trim

Agree, no grease fitting Guess Merc figures it doesn't need them. The bearings are hanging and the pop is when it releases.

    Popping noise when use trim

Don't know your serial number but I'm seeing a grease fitting on serial numbers 1B690542 and up. It not being there wonder if it was a manufacture defect and may be covered under warranty. https://www.mercruiserparts.com/bam/subassembly/32324/15142/230

    Ford closed cool TS Housing

Member @Jakem has a 1975 Ford 289 with closed cooling. The short of the story is its not plumbed like it should and does not have a bypass hole in the thermostat housing. Without the bypass there is not enough flow. https://forums.iboats.com/threads/overheating.745111/ Need a housing that...

    5.7 fuel issue ( I think)

Agree, think your running out of fuel. Fuel pressure, weak pump, antisiphone valve, other fuel line restriction or tank vent restriction. As zeller mention start with the easy part, remove the gas cap and see if it comes back to doing ok. If not, then get a gauge on the fuel line between...
