    New to you boat should have had some maintenance done. Fuel filter, impeller, check the plugs and cap. Drive alignment check, etc, etc Remove the fuel filter and dump the contents into a clear jar to see if there is only clean gas. Agree, pull some plugs and check that the wires are attached...

    Your correct, the impeller was installed in the wrong direction. Remove and reinstall The pump can run in either direction but it would take a reverse rotation motor for the way it is now

    With basically soft stuff I would suggest what you have or a plow anchor. The fluke/Danforth needs to be set first. Drop, pay out and back up until it hooks. The plow/Delta will go deep and hook but also needs to be set. Go up to a 20 pounder, your chain is good, and adding more will only help
