    Been looking around and I'm unable to remember if the one on my Formula had a bonding wire on the garboard, but don't think it did. Would be easy enough to do, use a machine screw in one of the 3 holding it, and attach wire to the inside. There are some (not a lot) write ups on other forums...

    The oil filter connection should be the same for both blocks. The filter unit can be taken off and moved with the rest of the stuff. Don't leave the shut off plate on the block, you need a filter, and the 502 needs an oil cooler

    The 1st pic looks like a oil thermostat and not a cooler. What was the original motor serial number? The 2nd pic looks lake just a cover, does it have 2 oil lines on it?

    Something is missing If pressure is constant and carb is clean and working then it should run. One last thing that might cause the issue is if your carb is a Holley then the power valve might be damaged or sticking

    There isn't a different alignment bar but there can be a bad alignment bar. The coupler is one inch and guessing the shop did not use your bar, then there is something wrong with your rear motor mounts, or the mounts don't have the spring washer installed, or something wrong with the coupler...

    Dump the contents of the fuel filter into a clear container. If there is anything other then clean gas. Most likely filter will have some crud in it. Might even be clogging up

    If you use compressed air do remove the gas cap. Tanks should not have any more then 3 psi. You can you 90 psi so long as the cap has been removed

    You mentioned this boat has outdrices? 1st post If it does then all you need is what is on the drives. Start there and measure voltages. That said the boat needs to sit in the water connected to shore power for at least 24 hours prior to measuring

    Key OFF means you have to turn the motor OFF to get the drive out of gear. The Alpha drive clutch must be unloaded to shift into neutral, just the way its made.

    With the carb dripping fuel then its shutting down from flooding. For this to happen the float is not set correctly, the float is to heavy and is sinking, a piece or crud got in the needle seat, the needle seat is bad or there is to much fuel pressure

    Don't see an issue with running lean The motor might be dying because the shift interruptor switch is hanging or mis-adjusted. The interruptor makes the distributor miss to allow the clutch in the drive to unload so it can be moved into neutral. If it hangs or not adjusted correctly the motor...
