    93 Maxum 4.3 timing issue

The tag on the block is the one to use so it is a 1993 motor (not 93 and up). Don't use the 0F that is for a 96 to 97 It does use zero lash (so up/down) and then 1 full turn

The good thing is having MEFI's they can be reprogrammed by many. Can even be done by yourself with MEFIBurn software, and AFR meters

2007 350 Mag Not Pumping Water

The hose can get twisted and kinked but being a dealer did it , its not to likely. In any case look at the hose going from drive bell housing to transom assy and see if it is

Merc 5.7 Q Jet fueling issues

Check your gas tank vent line. When it bogs down, open the gas cap and listen for air being sucked in. If that does help Check your antisiphon valve on the tank that the rubber fuel line is attached and goes to the filter. The valve can get crud build up and need replacing Can also get a...

    3.0 Timing Question

Yes, the module controls timing, but I would test all components in the distributor before replacing it Do agree just run it, it should be fine and recheck later

    3.0 Timing Question

Spec between 2400-2800 rpm it should be 24 to 28* BTDC With it reading 4ATDC at 26* then your getting 22* BTDC which is a tad low but will not hurt anything, just a bit lower on power. Does is get better at 2800? If its rock solid you could advance it a bit further

    Tilt and trim

You should have a trim limit switch that keeps the drive from going to high up. If the switch goes bad (opens up) or is mis-adjusted it will not go up. Do you have the single solenoid or two solenoids?

    Impeller housing overheating

Even if dwell is off it shouldn't just shut down when giving it throttle. The knocking is a real concern. The gimbal and U-joints would be making noise most full time if there was an issue. Don't see them shutting down the motor, just make more noise Does it shut down hard like split second...

2001 Mercruiser EFI hard to start after engine off for a while

Previous comment was IAC "muffler", which is a piece of foam that is in the TB that reduces some of the sucking sound. If the tip of the IAC is dirty or its bore has crud build up, it can have difficulty doing its job. Might not be it, just thoughts to look at. It only happens when warmed up...

VP 5.0 to 5.7 high idle

Unplugging any of those will throw a code, and has a possibility of damaging the ECM. Not saying it will/did but its not a good idea. Don't know what "chocked off" means, but if it means shut down (turned off) I would say that is possible. The ECM uses the TPS and MAP to determine how much...

VP 5.0 to 5.7 high idle

Two motors doing the same thing. Either they both were setup incorrectly, or the same item is not working right Hope throttle cables are disconnected to ensure the cables are not increasing rpm Try to set timing, if its to far advanced the ECM will try to keep things at optimum burn. Even if...

2001 Mercruiser EFI hard to start after engine off for a while

Your fuel pressure should be 30 psi The issue is it does take a fitting to measure the pressure. Its connected in between the fuel line and throttle body. P/N 91-806901 Looks like it doesn't have a IAC muffler but does have an IAC (item 7). Remove it carefully and clean with soap and...
