Compression test procedures for 4.3L GXI-E

If you have a Flat top distributor cap, then disconnect the CPS If you have a coil that looks like the pic, disconnect both connectors

    Tahoe 2150 battery dead

This is your issue. A Bat going dead in one day has something draining it big time. Disconnect all positive leads. Connect each one, one at a time and see if there is a spark. The one that sparks is probably the issue

Compression test procedures for 4.3L GXI-E

The first is disconnecting the coil power so it will not spark. It uses the distributor to send signal to the coil The second disconnects the crank sensor because the ECM sends signal to the coil

    Transducers and Hull Thicknesses

I doubt the hull is to thick, a sounder will not go thru air. Rinker uses the standard plywood hull and glass. Place the transducer next to hull, then put enough water in the bilge to cover the bottom of it. Use a sand bag or something similar to hold it in place...

    Buzzer alarm wiring

Depending on which carb (regular or TKS) then the alarm is connected to the purple wire coming from the key switch. When key is ON it powers one side of the alarm. The other side of the alarm is attached to a Tan/Blue wire which is connected to the temp switch on the thermostat housing, the...

two questions - temp sender and ignition coil

Have not seen exploded views with boats The crossover is in front of the motor and crosses over both sides of the motor. You never said if its raw water cooled or closed cooled (AF). If closed, then the crossover is under the heat exchanger

two questions - temp sender and ignition coil

No serial number listed Temp sender (item 5) is under the crossover https://www.mercruiserparts.com/bam/subassembly/31525/16591/170 The coil (item 18) is on the bracket port side https://www.mercruiserparts.com/bam/subassembly/31525/16591/20

Outdrive trim pump, where is the power source

Don't know of one, but could check with a local motor shop they may have them, or know where to get them

    Buzzer alarm wiring

What problem are you having? What motor is in the boat? One side of the alarm is connected to 12V when key is ON, and the other will go to the ECM

4.3 blows 15a fuse when you throttle up

Anything above 1500 rpm's can burn the impeller. Watch your temp gauge closely next time out

    No speed, No power...please help!

Need to verify what you have, and negative numbers can not happen 19P - 2:50 ratio - 3000 rpm - 24 mph - slip = -11% 17P - 2:50 ratio - 3700 rpm - (guessing 15 to 20 mph) = slip 24 to 48% Something wrong with trimming or props are bent up, or dinged badly...

    No speed, No power...please help!

OK. Compression is good enough Other things don't add up. 19 pitch can reach 25 mph at 3000 ram. Go to a 17 pitch and it won't get on plane. If props are correct the ram on a 17 should be maybe 3400 or at worst 3600, which is still below max

    Volvo penta D3 200

The computer is seeing low voltage coming from the MPR. Either there is a bad connection or relay is failing. The motor has 4 relays I"I think". The MPR is the one on the left facing the motor Left to right relays MPR, Fuel pump, Stop, start Swap the MPR with one of the others

4.3 blows 15a fuse when you throttle up

Dieseling is caused by to much fuel, incorrect timing, idle to high or getting to hot. If the diode was shorted, you would turn the key OFF, but the motor would not shut off. Only way to kill the motor is to pull the diode or the coil wire. When the diode shorts it will also drain the battery...

4.3 blows 15a fuse when you throttle up

Using your serial number the old fuse part number and new show a 15 and 20 amp. So I jumped the gun thinking yours may be a 20. Now were back to ignition components or ALT, The coil will pull more amps as rpms come up, but not that much more

4.3 blows 15a fuse when you throttle up

Since there the same, and the motor dies when its goes, it has to be ignition. Look under the helm for a inline fuse on the red/purple feeding the key. My guess is its a 20. If it is, I would replace the fuse with a 20. Newer motor using different ignition components and alternators only need...

4.3 blows 15a fuse when you throttle up

This is the simplified TKS diagram. Note if diode shorts the motor will not shut off because power back feeds to the ignition. If it opens the TKS module never opens up until the temp switch closes Wiring connections

Only thing I can think of that would draw a slight bit more current as rpm increases, is the coil. That said its hardly ever the coil
