    Take the 4 screws out.----Operate shift handle so you get a gap / room the take one screw out of the connecter.

    Sorry----These magnetos were installed on Johnson / Evinrude from about 1950 to the late 1980's.----Very reliable and easy to trouble shoot.

    Were HONDA motors ever painted BLACK???-----Do the HONDA motors use a cowling like that ???------I doubt it is a HONDA !!-----Post pictures of the powerhead with cowling ( cover ) off the motor.-----Should make it easy to ID.

    I did an outboard cowling repair with polyester resin.-----The smell / stench of that stuff made me appreciate epoxy resin just that much more.----Epoxy for me.

    Flywheel key checked ?-----It does not have a choke flapper.-----The electric primer valve opens when you push in the key.----That action puts fuel directly into the air flow.------This fuel bypasses the metering circuits in the carburetors.-----This would suggest a carburetor issue.------Or...

    Check plug wires where they take a 90 degree bend under the magneto plate.

    Did the carburetor cleaning on one of those a few weeks ago.-----Slow speed needle was about 5 turns out.-----Motor started on the first pull.-----Then adjusted for proper idle after that ( 1 turn ? out )
