    There is probably an exact spec somewhere but maybe look at it like this; If a wave could bounce you out of the boat, then it probably needs a kill switch (KS). My 27FT cruiser has high sides and no KS. My 23FT runabout with lower sides has a KS

    Don't know much about these motors, but does appear to have digital throttle control, is this correct? Is this a brand new motor or new to you? How low is the idle?

    I wouldn't think so. I used the TPS test point only because it was easy to show. The supplied voltage should be 5V on pin 57, if its correct then the TPS should be correct. Have been unable to find where the ECM reference point is located Is it real cold where your at?

    Two readings give me concern Fuel temp 163* (where is this reading coming from) ECM ref V 2.49 (I would figure it would be 5V) Any codes?

    With drive removed, mark the drive shaft and one of the prop shafts. Rotate drive shaft 10 times and count the prop, then divide by 10 Its rotated 10 times to make sire its not an even ratio like 2.0

    Have never seen a SB (even stroked) put out more "low end" torque then a BB. Pretty sure your going to like the 8.2 in the 28 footer (5500 lbs). That said, hope there is no problems with the CATs
